The modders still don't have the toolsets as far as I know. Until BW realease them it is hardly possible to create serious fan created mods sadly. Anyway they promised to release it in the future. Until that I reccomend you to "fondle Andraste" in the Black Emporium.

Wait, did they really promise to release it in the future? I simply remember hearing a vague "We would have to see what updating the community's toolset would take." Could you please link me to a source where they promised to give us a toolset? That would be greatly appreciated.

Some things from DAO do work in DA2; I know of several mods that use existing models, but I think there is something different about the animated models that will make using them difficult. I've actually tried making an erf that uses NewByPower's DAO nudes for human females, but the body disappears when you remove the armor; I'm trying to figure out exactly what is different, but I'm not seeing anything obvious.

Ditto.  I also tried with the same results.  I hope you have better luck than I.

I'm trying to get some scripts written for 3DS Max (and possibly Blender) that can handle full import and export of models; I found one that will import the models, but it doesn' have a matching export script yet.

Nice mod. 
Too bad that you have to wear skin as clothes instead of replacing original model with new one.

Now its proper mod, just one minor glitch at neck, but Iam sure creator of mod will fix it soon.
