I posted the same thing on the "Act 1 issues" thread.
I'm having an issue with the quest "Long Way Home". When I reach the alter, nothing happens. I assume there's meant to be a cutscene. I've run up and down the mountain, killed and looted everything available, returned to Kirkwall, tried using different party members, etc.
I tried reverting to a previous save, but I save frequently, and can't go back far enough. I've tried rebooting too, so its not that. Help?

I'm on windows 7, 64bit on a laptop. I've updated my drivers, but not to the beta. Since I updated, ive been having graphics card errors non stop, so
I'm not that tempted to go with an untested beta.
From memory my card is GeForce GTS 250M.
I wouldn't be so anxious, but I've done every other quest, and cannot progress without this.

Well, as no one is assisting me just yet, I'll just keep posting stuff that might be useful.
When I initially went to complete this quest, I didn't go straight to the altar. I first climbed to the top of the mountain, and killed the creatures up there. I then saved, and returned to the altar. I saved again, then ran to the altar which caused mobs to spawn. It took me a few goes, but I eventually killed them all. I then saved again, and approached the altar.
As nothing happened, i went back into the cave, before coming back out and checking again.
This also failed to work, so I attempted to return to the save before I reached the altar. As I couldn't go back that far, i returned to Kirkwall and did some quests. Before I logged, I tried one last time.
When I next turned my computer on, it still didn't work, so I played with my settings, tried using directx

...so I read the "known issues" threads, and I have a horrible feeling that I know what happened.
I'm guessing that one of the items I looted, or creatures I killed on sundermount somehow caused the game to decide I no longer needed the cutscene to play.
So, even though I hate this with a passion, it seems I'm going to have to go back 10 hours of play, and fix this up.
So, new question. I have over 600 saves. I know approximately what number save I'm after. Is there any way to load a save not on the list? Or am I going to have to pretty much start over, and do less quick saves, and more proper ones?

As no one seems to want to help me, I tried the official ea help page. They referred me back here. The circle continues.
