So the ending was disappointing, but...

... I liked all the multiple ways of how it all plays out.  The amount of choices that really effect everything that happens throughout the game is probably the best they've ever done. And having a lot of these characters actually able to be killed off depending on the situation is awesome, too. Throws a bit of a curve ball at you multiple times throughout the game. So many decision were HARD to make - way more than any other BioWare game yet.

For whatever reason, Isabella never showed up for me and wasn't even in the game, and I thought I had a few more years left to play out, so I was very surprised to see it end when it did, though. But I kinda got the hint when Varric started talking about all his friends on both sides of the argument, and he mentioned Isabella, and I realized that I must have done something to miss her.

Fenris ended up turning on me when I sided with the mages, and I ended up having to kill him. But I never liked him anyway.

Little things they give hints to throughout conversations on how things could have been changed for the better that I'm gonna give a go in my next playthrough gives me a reason to go through it again.

The story is dark as hell and I like that.

I just wish there would have been more to the ending and some sort of closure. Some idea of where Hawke is and what he/she is up to in the present.

But I assume it'll all come eventually.

I really don't think that it was so much the ending, rather than just the abruptness of it. Thought there was so much more ahead, and there really wasn't. :P
