There is quite a bit of polarization going on right now and I have a question to those who generally disliked the game. Whatever reasons you disliked for, how long did you play Dragon Age 2?
Please respond with one of following:
-Demo only.
-Only to Act 1(around 10 hours).
-Only to Act 2(around 25 hours).
-Only to Act 3(around 40 hours).
-Beat the game.
Please be honest! And this is only for those who are dissapointed with DA2!
I didn't have an issue with the Demo really. It was only a small representation of the game.
I spent 15+ hours in Act 1. And Act 1 was terrible I stopped playing for a few days. I could see nothing I did in DA:O mattered at all. The short rather pointless cameos proved that. But I was so sick of playing it by the end of Act 1 I put it to rest until my next day off, which is tomorrow. This game just can't keep me motivated. The faster combat, voice player character, and new talent/spell advancement system are improvements but everything else about the game is disappointing.
I'm not angry. But I am very disappointed. DA2 could have been a 10 but it will remain a 7 in my eyes. It's not likely to be a game I play much. Which to me means I wasted my money.

The story was... disjointed. 90% of the time I didn't even know why I was doing such and such quest.
It then ends in an absolutely ridiculous boss fight and an open ending that doesn't provide any sense of closure.
It also had way too much drama, so much so than after a while, I was just expecting everyone to drop dead for added angst.
No real choices/consequences. No matter what you chose, it ended the same way.
I couldn't care less about the companions, who were the reason I loved DAO so much.
The romances (Anders', at least) were kind of... rushed? You flirt a bit then it's suddenly "I love you SO MUCH".
Overall the game failed to elicite any emotion from me, other than boredom.
I was looking forward to this game, too.
I really wanted to like it, but the game wouldn't let me.

Played well into act II (20 to 25 hours, I'd guess). No motivation to do any more. Sure, I'll probably finish it eventually - but a brand new AAA title that I put away for 3 days straight with no motivation to go forward - meh.

I finished the dang thing... But it was basically a DRONE. I figured for 59.99, I was gonna finsh it come heck or high water..
Furthremore, the story perked up in the 3rd inning, but there were still too many glaring issues with the storyline that I probably shouldn't discuss in the spoiler-free forum... Suffice it to say there were serious story continuity issues (e.g. using Merril in your party given you [blanked out for spoilers sake])

Beat the game, hate it, can't get past act 1 on the second play through I get so bored.
Act 1 is horrible you have no motivation beyond getting money. It took me till towards the end of act 2 to actually find some sort of plot. Everything else is sidequests. I'm getting there slowly, should at least be done by friday (when it had to go back).
I think I was on my third play of DA in the same period of days.

I was fine with the game, despite lots of small flaws, through Act 2. As soona s Act 3 started that plane started to crash and burn. By the end of the game it's a mix of relief that it's over, and anger that you didn't get more to make up for the things you got stiffed out of.

The side quests really are obligatory imo, because without doign them, you either can't get the gold....or don't get the opportunity to loan the money (by the time I got that opportunity, I already had the gold)....
First run through, fair enough, do everything to see whats the game has to offer, but uggghhh...been meaning to start a new game all day....still have not done so yet....
Oh...and beat it at 39 hours and 39 minutes.

i know you stated to only post if your are disappointed, but i had to come in here and again state my surprise.. im just shocked that DA2 gets all this negative feedback, when ME2 had much more significant changes (and IMO not in a good way) and was received so positively..

Honestly Im back and forth with like and dislike. On third playthrough. Wanted to play once with each class just to try everything. Some things I enjoy, others I run overtop of to get to the parts I enjoy.

I beat the game. I have a feeling the OP is going to reply with something to the effect of "Well how can you hate it if you played all the way through!?"
