There is quite a bit of polarization going on right now and I have a question to those who generally disliked the game. Whatever reasons you disliked for, how long did you play Dragon Age 2?
Please respond with one of following:
-Demo only.
-Only to Act 1(around 10 hours).
-Only to Act 2(around 25 hours).
-Only to Act 3(around 40 hours).
-Beat the game.
Please be honest! And this is only for those who are dissapointed with DA2!
Beated it 5 times. Can't get myself to finish the 6th playthrough...
Now, great games or the games I really love, I can replay so much more than DA2 that DA2 should be ashamed really.
Origins: Over 20 full runs
ME1 & 2: Over 20 full runs each
Gothic 1 & 2 : Around 10 full runs each
The Witcher 1 : Around 10 full runs
The Witcher 2: 16th run halted while we wait for
I agree with you whole heartedley! I have played through the first two Fable games more times then I wish to count. I lost track of my Fable 2 saves after 16 and Fable: The Lost Chapters somewhere after 8. Only played through the third one two times because I didn't like it very much. But in replay value DA2 is in the lacking department.

I was curious to see Zevran, LI of my Warden I imported into that playthrough. But not only he looked terrible with redesign, but also plot flag was wrong so he acted as if my Warden didnt romanced him. Also I was hoping that my Warden would show up with him.
Add that to overall very painful experience and is obvious I kinda hate that game.
Actually I beat the game only because I was curious if my Warden will show up. Never touched that game since then.

I beat it about 5 times and i still cant get the import bugs fixed<_<. i hate the game and when i read theres a patch to fix import bugs ill make one last cannon playthrough with a warrior hawke so i can just import into da3 and try to forget about da2.. unless the art style in da3 is cartoony again then im just done with the series.

Beat the game, but 40 hours? Didn't take me that long on hard, probably around 30 odd. I completed it months ago and forced myself to finish, before discarding it. Its somewhere in my room, lying on the floor, I'm unsure where at the moment. But, I'm not particularly fussed as I don't intend to play it again.

I rushed through the last final part because I wanted to finish it finally. Had to resist a feeling of growing boredom. A feeling I never experienced before at the end of a game. So, at least I didn´t feel anylonger disappointed, only bored.

There won't be. The remaining import bugs are due to the flags not being properly set in Origins and Awakening. They can't fix it with a DA2 patch and are not going to patch the older games because they know a lot of people wouldn't want or are unable to play them again to establish a working save. As such, Bioware is probably going to do something like the ME2 comic, but hopefully more inclusive.

I have a love/hate relationship w/ DA2. There are parts of the story, I really like, especially molding Hawke's character through dialog. But there are so many other aspects that just didn't hit the spot or missed the dart board entirely for me. Some of the gripes have been discussed ad nauseum, reused maps, waves, no big decisions, etc, so I won't dwell too much on those.
The combat was tedious in that the enemies were in nearly the same set pattern throughout the game. The waves and reused maps merely compounded the tedium. Mind you, I liked that the combat reaction time was sped up, though why they turned the Warrior into a ME Vanguard, I'll never know.
While I liked the dialogue and dialogue wheel, I hated the dialogue system. In that you got to talk w/ someone in their home for all of two minutes. I understand getting rid of the laundry list, but making the dialogue area specific takes away more than it brings to the game. While DA2 is a step up from Awakening's scavenger hunt for dialogue, it's still cumbersome, and I have my doubts that they will every find a suitable replacement for dialogue anywhere, any time.
There may be a technical name for it, but I call it "game logic." You know, the reason why Shepard is carrying the wrong gun in a cutscene or why the MageWarden is on fire while talking to someone after being hit by a fireball. BW doesn't make sandbox games and that's fine. That's the way they roll and I accept that. In fact, I expect a certain amount of "game logic" in every game, but DA2 seems to have it in abundance and some real immersion breaking bits at that. Why don't the Darkspawn try to kill Wesley and the Mother in the first of the game? Why does every cave and every house look exactly the same? And of course, why does no one notice Hawke is a mage after she's cast spells in front of them. That one is a real nit w/ me as any time something occurs only if it is convenient for the story, it is bad writing.
Bugs. All games come w/ bugs, but DA2 has more bugs than any other game I have encountered. I still haven't gotten Nathaniel's quest even though he is alive and well in all my DA:A saves. More than any, this game has those non repeatable bugs, like Carver standing still throughout the final battle or Varric suddenly losing his body, or quests that went fine in one playthrough don't even trigger in another. Maybe in a year the game will be stable, but the way BW has been letting smaller bugs go (Conrad in ME2) I doubt DA2 will ever be 100% playable.
And finally, why can't we have both? By that, I mean one of the reasons BW gave for the reused maps was so there would be more content rather than less. My question is, why can't we have both? And as to no "big" decisions, DA2 is clearly a more personal game, which I liked, but again, why can't we have both? Why can't we have a very personal game where the player's decisions at least seem to matter more?
At the end of the day, DA2 fails to be the masterpiece it could have been for many reasons, but one stands out in particular. It was rushed. That, more than anything else, disappointed me the most.

I've still never seen the full ending, I have so little interest in the game I can't even be bothered to watch it on youtube.
