line at Jenkins' death and running into Ash,
sinker when I hit the first beacon.
Got even more obsessed when I booted up my first fem shep and got to her first dialogue.

(1) ME1 - The Reaper plot. I got hooked first at Tali's report after I saved her from Fist's goons. Then I had the first suspicion that this could be an epic plot. Confirmed after the talk with Sovereign on Virmire. No matter that it isn't exactly original - between Star Control 2 and Revelation Space we've had several similar plots - its continuation and resolution is what makes me follow every step of the games' story with appreciation.
(2) ME2 - Miranda Lawson. There are so many cautionary tales about genetic engineering I'm thoroughly sick of it. It was such a relief to see a functional genetically engineered character with desirable traits. Add that she's got a personality I can immediately relate to so much that it's not hard to write fanfic about her, and she's the main reason my mind has stayed on ME2 for more than a year. I can only hope they don't ruin all that by canonically confirming her infertility.

And then there was ME2. Oh well...
The cake was a lie, I guess.

Same here. I actually felt kind of proud when hearing the words "Commander Shepard, step forward. It is the decision of the council..."

In ME2, its when Jack calls you a p*ssy.
Then again love is so hazy that both games just blend into a haze of shepard goodness.

This. Running around and marveling at the presidium, speaking to all these strange aliens, getting a feel for galactic politics and humanity's role in it. It was great. Dammit, I hope the end of ME3 we will be able to run around THAT Citadel again... and Shepard gets, like, an apartment on the Presidium.

"Definition: 'Love' is making a shot to the knees of a target 120 kilometers away using an Aratech sniper rifle with a tri-light scope. Statement: This definition, I am told, is subject to interpretation. Obviously, love is a matter of odds. Not many meatbags could make such a shot, and fewer would derive love from it. Yet for me, love is knowing your target, putting them in your targeting reticle, and together, achieving a singular purpose, against statistically long odds."

Honestly, who can't watch this introductionary sequence www.youtube.com/watch and not immediately be drawn in? I don't want to meet the person who isn't, there's something fundamentally flawed with that individual.
This was the moment for me as well. I still get goosebumps when I see it.

And agree with that ... can't remember how often I watched that bit
