Love it though, please continue. Might get cracking on a Mage Nightmare Solo run... would need rock armor and arcane shield... could possibly work.

Personally I don't think you are gonna have a lot of trouble with Ancient Rock Wraith. Imo it's easier solo to manuever. It'll just take a long time.
I'd like to see some vids on the random battles where you get trapped in rooms.

I would enjoy seeing anyone beat the High Dragon solo on Nightmare.
Do you need to fight a High dragon? The only one I have seen was in The bone pit.
I am playing a solo(ish) Shadow Rogue on hard. I am asuming that quests that are not in the Main plot are optional?

Hmmm... There is one mission in LowTown, just before you meat Fenris, or whatever he's called. The second you leave the house with the empty chest, you get ganked by about 8 full plate melee characters and an area you cannot leave. Reinforcements consist of a small amount of archers and a mage. Good luck on that, because there was not a chance in the world for my party to finish that fight with no one dying (was going for the accomplishment on first run). Then I wish you luck with the wraith guard in the dwarven Thaig. I certainly did not have the patience to chip away the health bar of that boss even on hard!
The adds don't consist of any archers or atleast didn't for me on my current solo playthrough and the mage just sits at the back casting his shield until all the adds are dead.
So you have to kill like 14 SnS enemies which isn't too hard if you know how to dodge attacks and counter.
There are a few fights that would be extremely note worthy accomplishments if you can manage to pull them off, mainly the fights as x-president has mentioned where you are trapped in a room with a ton of enemies a large majority of which consist of archers.

Not my cup of tea, but I can understand that there probably is no other way. Still it begs the question, why do this at all?

The challenge is fun for some people me being 1 of them
The prologue ogre is so early in the game you don't have any utility to kill the adds so the easiest way is to let the ogre do it, that changes later on when you have to tactically use you're abilities in order to kill enemies.
If you don't like a challenge and lots of reloading because of 1 small mistake than sure a solo nightmare run wouldn't be for you but i am really enjoying it currently.

Did this fight long before Mature Dragon and it was pretty underwhelming. As Tyrith commented there are no ranged mobs which means kite-a-thon! When the mage spawns I just stealthed and took him out and then proceeded to kite/joust the melee just like I did in Danzig.

You don't need to kill the Hurlocks the way I chose to. They are easily jousted/kited just like I did in the Danzig video. But the hilarity of Darkspawn bowling was just too much to pass up

Talk about spoilers. It's impossible to find a good build for a DW rogue w/o someone spoiling the game for you. Honestly,is it necessary to spill the while plot when you're tryna discuss where to distribute points?
Dragon Age II Characters, classes and Builds (Spoilers) is what the forum is called for a reason. I'll add (Spoilers) into the header for good measure for confused people.

Also I'd like to see how you handle the room with the Golem that sells goods solo. And the section with the gas, but I guess there is some room to maneuver with the tight alley.

Thus far the golden nugget take-away early on; is you need Anderfel from the Black Emporium or the Maul from Lowtown to even hope to succeed. Personally I bought both; a few gold is worth putting out 2x-4x the damage versus that terrible starter weapon.
I doubt mine will be as in-depth as yours with video's to boot, but its fun on your third/fourth play through.

Makers Sigh- a potion that allows you to reallocate all attribute and ability points for any character that drinks it found for 1 gold in the black emporium.
elixir of physical techinique- a potion that gives you extra points for your character.
There are also tomes that can be found in the game in different acts that also do the same thing.

I understand removing party members with the console, but I thought solo hardest mode challenges were usually done without cheating.
The last game I played solo was Final Fantasy IX, easy for the most part except for Ozma and a couple other parts. This game solo on nightmare sounds like it will be like the Ozma fight solo in FFIX, one wrong move and it's over.

Amassing 50g before level 8 is not some impossible feat and I certaintly havent cheated the system. Completing main plot quests only, ignoring all other opportunities, will raise in the region of 34-45 sovereigns (depending on how diligent you are in collecting loot). Finishing all potential quests, however, will see you amass from 85-100 sovereigns before you even depart to The Deep Roads.
There are 30+ possible quests in Act 1 alone not to mention 13 "find and deliver" side quests as well as up to 10 quests from loading specific DA:O save data. The total respec+tome+elixer cost in Act 1 is 50g. I don't buy gear as all the best gear is dropped. I sell all loot/gear that I don't use on my rogue.

Thanks for the answer. I haven't seriously played the game yet, I just have two throw away saves, one for testing Warrior builds and another to get the mage achievement so when I do play, I get the templar one and don't have to worry about playing again.
It's going to take a lot of willpower for me to try and not to exploit it, I just now went through Origins for the first time not maxing at level 25 before becoming a grey warden and found out you get pretty close to that anyway by doing everything in the game. But now the cap is so high you will be lucky to hit 26, let alone 50. Which makes it even more tempting.
Keep up the good work, I wouldn't have the guts to try it.
