I knew this would be the Area you would have had the most trouble with cause of what Tyrith stated. In Phase two its almost impossible to lunge on him and avoid his attacks after cause of the AoE of his attacks is huge, they will even strike you from behind the pillars. But I have faith in you man. On my DW rouge play-through I didn't re-spec but I kept a Bow on me anyways just for this part.

I know the Bow strat will get me the kill but I just don't feel like cheesing my way out of the fight. Gonna sit and grind this out until a workable strategy is made; even if the fight takes 3+ hours

Where do you got all your armor from and weapons?

Everything aside from Cap of the Antivan King(6g at Black Emporium) and Ancient Leather Cuirass(Free at Black Emporium) - is a quest reward or chest/mob drop in Act 1.

So far the rock wraith phase two has been kicking my 2h warriors ass. Its joust him on the NW pillar and trade hit for hit with one cleave whirlwind then out, rinse repeat on CD's. Its the only way.

Its impossible for a melee not to take a hit from him. His moves can't be timed, and he can't be hurt consistntly while rolling. Huge pain, I'm 20 minutes in right now, waiting on CD's, with only 6 elfroots left, not looking good.

Check that, if you wait until he does his explode attack you have enough time to run in whirlwind and run out without getting hit. Not sure if that helps a rogue, but atleast there is a window to move now without having to take a punch.

His movements are so unpredictable though, its charge you, charge you, charge you, ball, explode, repeat. Something to this effect.

You can effectively backstab through his sweep attack but there really isn't an effective way of regaining stamina as rogue so you either need to kite him or get him stuck so you can basically rest for 2-3 minutes and refill you're stamina bar.

Phase 2 is the only hard part about the fight though and by far the longest.

I managed all 4 phases as melee just not in 1 go, phase 2 took 2-3 hours but that was without any sort of stamina regen gear as i sold it earlier in the playthrough :P

Haven't tried it as warrior but phase 3+4 the only time i found i could effectively attack him was during the vortex type attack he does, it took me around 12 pots to do both phases but i got hit stupidly a few times so you could probably do it with less.

Done, beat the big SoB. Phase two is by far the hardest. Everything else is waiting until he does his little pull you into him manuever then unload. Devour saved my life several times as I ran out of potions during phase three. Big more than 20 would be my advice.

Impressive, but the main concern isn't melee bosses - it's the random encounters. With warrior you can cleave>scythe>mighty blow>whirlwind and with some luck and reloads you'll be able to take out dangerous groups of enemies quickly. Rogue has too little HP, low armor and gets stunlocked too easily.

up to Deep Roads killing packs of enemies, especially ones with only melee archtypes has been cake. It starts getting interesting when you add archers/mages into the mix because you can be knocked back or stunned. Stealth and Decoy help immensly with this and I haven't found it to be a problem yet.

Blew through all of the gang fights in Act 1 without many reloads. Rock Wraith is still my biggest milestone atm

Assuming you get past the Rock Wraith, I'm curious if you're going to try the multi-boss fights in some of the side quests like Tarohne's evil books and those scrolls in Act 3?

IF I can get past Rock Wraith in a single go through (currently made it past Phase 2) then I will indeed, like Danzig, try for some of the sidequest Elite fights. My main focus is on Boss/Archboss type mobs though.

Phase 2 has been locked down and solved (although it will take a large chunk out of your time). Working on Phase 3-4 now. Looking like a kill is only a matter of time now!

How does the stealthing and hiding work? He still sees you after you pop back into reality doesn't he?

He always seemed to see me through pillars then hit me even if I was half way across the room.

The pillars block line of sight so he wont see you behind them and spells cant be cast through them.

In Deep Roads with the Hunger Demon? 1 shot the Hunger Demon with Stealth/Twin Fangs, Decoy/Stealth burn down the Profane that use ranged attacks and then kite/joust the Abomination/Shades that spawn.

All of the deep roads areas are very long and give you a big area to move around making it easy to get completely out of combat and regain health/stamina.

Even without doing that though with the correct build its not hard to run in decoy kill a target and than stealth out with taking very minimal damage.

Once phase 2 was locked down, everything else just fell into place. Total combat time was 3 hours 27 minutes. Since I don't own a 50tb external HDD I was not able to record 3 straight hours of footage. I did however record the start/end of each phase and the last minute or so before the death. I'm burnt out and will enjoy a day off while encoding this. Stay tuned!

So let's say you're playing w/ a party,who would you role w/ & what would their tactics/build be?

When I did my first playthrough I rolled with Aveline(tank), Varric(aoe dps/control), Merrill(aoe dps/cc) and Hawke as assassin/duelist rogue. My second playthrough was Hawke as 2hd Vanguard/Templar, Varric(control), Merrill(control) and Anders(support heal). (tbh) I don't have the patience at the moment to write down each build/tactic for you but I'm sure Sabre's Ultimate Vanguard Guide or possibly Most useful/useless party members guide will be more than enough info to get you started building your own group.

It also has a lot to do with personal preference and play style. My solo nightmare dw rogue setup would not play the same in a party situation as well.

Ogre downnn wasn't too bad, the archer leading up to the point were a major pain as a mage. Whole prologue took about 40-50 mins, just got to the gallows. Have to get just in range so you auto attack 1 at a time.

Flemeth didn't show, so I'm assuming it has to do with clearing your party in the DevConsole. So I tried jumping acts, and uh... almost screwed it up but I fixed it lol.
