Don't panic, just make sure Dragon Age 3 has nothing to do with DA2 and everything to do with DAO.

EFA.
You're welcome.
There will always be complaints, no matter how close to perfection a game is.
Its just that DA2 gives people too much valid reasons to complain.

And anyway, what's wrong with it being more like Mass Effect? I think it is very Mass Effect-ish and to be honest it comes across as a win for me.

Got to wait till the dust settles. If DA2 sells, then they won't care what anyone said and will continue streamlining.
If DA2 bombs, then one of two things can happen.
1. DA3 goes back to it's roots
2. DA3 gets canned.
Or they may conclude that DA2 was still not streamlined enough when the spybot reports on all those unfinished games.
pretty much this
And I expect route 2 more than anything, knowing EA.

Let's face it, DA3 will be about another new hero, and most old choices will be forgotten. Sad, but true.
Also. How the hell is Hawke the most important person in Thedas? Compared to what my warden did he's a nobody. I'm not hating on Hawke.

This is ultimately true. A game could get a 10/10 review from 99% of reviwers, but that 1% will still have stuff to complain about.
The second part is true as well though, there is just plently of reasons to complain about DA2.
Dont' get me wrong, I enjoyed the game, I just liked Origins more

not to mention that most of the lines don't change the outcome of the conversations.
Either way, if they go back to our Wardens, it won't make up for DA2. . . unless DA3 somehow is better than both.

You liked DA:O a ton,so you got disappointed DA2 was somewhat different.
I didn't like DA:O,i found it "simply good" at best,so i was relieved my issues were adressed in DA2.
As for the classical oldschool RPGs,people don't realise they had no competition or predecessors,as well as no real consequences.I still remember BG2 NPCs that spoke to me every time Hell froze over, and had one interaction between them every second week. But we didn't have anything like that before,so it looked like something.
When you take a subject and repeat it to oblivion,it gets old.RPGs need something new.
If the next RPG will go back to the "roots",whatever your definition of roots is,you're all going to trash it and find something to complain about and you know it.
For me DA:O had some things i could not tolerate.Like, predictable story,NPCs i did not like(personal opinion here),armors i found disgusting designing wise, combat and specializations that seemed sub par for me class choice..DA2 fixed those issues for me so...
Concluding,to each his own.But don't use your own personal opinion to convince us that DA2 is trash because you didn't like it,or better, because it wasn't what you expected.

Speak for yourself,i didn't like DA:O at all.
So far i am enjoying DA2.
Yes i play in PC,my favorite game was Planescape Torment, yada yada,i am not as hardcore RPG fan as you so burn me in the stake.
There is no old school RPG guys seriously.Baldur's Gate had complex dialogue?Where everything you said had the same result?
You like puzzles?Like in BG2 where i told a riddle and you answered?Oh but if you are wrong then "LIGHTNING BOLT!"!
Intricacy and plot twists?Name one plot twist in DA:O.
lol guys get a grip, old school RPG never existed like you think it did in the first place.
Next thing, you will all be praising Icewind Dale for it's party interaction and asking to go back to that.
There was only ONE RPG that had the most amazing story you could have. And plot twists, and intricacy, and UNEXPECTED outcomes, because of the story.
Plane scape Tor ment.
End.
so get the hell out of our series and crying about it? Why would you (an extreme minority) think that your dull opinions are so important that you can ruin a good series?

Learn to read?I am not trashing DA2,quite the opposite. Also, read the whole thing before you attack someone. It makes you embarass yourself less.

DA2 isn't a true RPG, its an action hack and slash with some RPG elements. More like a shooter RPG.
Using the dialog wheel is fine.. as long as it actually effects the outcome of a conversation and not three or four different remarks of the same answer.
Needless to say, DA2 isn't a bad game, not a real RPG. It is a really bad Bioware game, I would hope they don't go down the same road with DA3
