Don't panic, just make sure Dragon Age 3 has nothing to do with DA2 and everything to do with DAO.

If DA 3 goes more astray than DA 2, I won't be buying from Bioware for awhile. Image IPB

If DA3 is more like Origins I can see all the hack and slash fanboys whining about how DA2 was much better, yes....

Speak for yourself,i didn't like DA:O at all.

So far i am enjoying DA2.

Yes i play in PC,my favorite game was Planescape Torment, yada yada,i am not as hardcore RPG fan as you so burn me in the stake.

There is no old school RPG guys seriously.Baldur's Gate had complex dialogue?Where everything you said had the same result?

You like puzzles?Like in BG2 where i told a riddle and you answered?Oh but if you are wrong then "LIGHTNING BOLT!"!

Intricacy and plot twists?Name one plot twist in DA:O.

lol guys get a grip, old school RPG never existed like you think it did in the first place.

Next thing, you will all be praising Icewind Dale for it's party interaction and asking to go back to that.

There was only ONE RPG that had the most amazing story you could have. And plot twists, and intricacy, and UNEXPECTED outcomes, because of the story.

Plane scape Tor ment.

End.

so get the hell out of our series and crying about it? Why would you (an extreme minority) think that your dull opinions are so important that you can ruin a good series?

Learn to read?I am not trashing DA2,quite the opposite. Also, read the whole thing before you attack someone. It makes you embarass yourself less.

Learn to read... clearly you cant read if you think Im talking about Dragon Effect 2. You cry about your dislikes on the original game, then dont play. Because of whiny (probably console) gamers like you all of our games get dumbed down to a retarded fetus' level.

I loved DAO. It was my right of passage into the hole rpg experience. I loved every minute of it.Well this and Oblivion but oblivion is a very different rpg. I also really like DA2. Note that I said really like but not love. The only improvement that I really like in DA2 is the combat and streamlining of the skill trees. the conversation wheel was ok. In DA3 they should keep the new combat style and make everything more similar to DAO. The conversations and some of my companions seemed to lack the depth that they had in DAO. Also Iiked dressing my companions in different armors etc.

I said i what i didn't like about the original game. You have a problem with that?

As for your other comments :

I am a pc gamer.I even clarified with arguments WHY i liked Planescape Torment best.

And you come and call me a whiny console gamer that destroyed your games.Because i didn't like Origins and you did?

Flawless logic

Also in my post,i wrote about DA2,DA:O,BG2,PS:T,was i supposed to guess which were you referring to?

The reference on DA:O,was made to make a point. That i didn't like that game, while i am enjoying DA2,and while i did enjoy previous RPG titles.

It was not made so you can whine about me "whining" about DA:O.What are you anyway?Who are you to say what we like and not like?

Get a grip seriously.

Hell no. If they go back to what they've already done I won't be buying DA3. I don't want The Warden back nor his emotionless, wooden, unvoiced personality, I don't want asspain slow two-hand combat, I don't want 6 or so different tutorial levels that all funnel into the exact same game pretending to be some revolutionary design mechanic. Fix what went wrong and look forward, don't dwell in the past.

Definitely agree with this. Although I really liked DA:O, DAII improved on a lot (while doing a few things wrong) and I have to agree with moving forward.

It's ok Bioware, get up. GET UP! Stop crying.

*picks Bioware up*

Everyone makes mistakes.

We your custom base love you and as a result we're going to pretend that Dragon Age 2 never happened.

But here is what we need from you Bioware. Make sure that nothing from Dragon Age 2 finds it's way into Dragon Age III. I would like to see Dragon Age III as a continuation of Dragon Age Origins with all it's original features.

You can recover from this by going back to your deep RPG roots.  Go back to the old school.  Challenge the masses, don't baby them. DA2 is your wake up call.  Challenge the peoples intellect, don't insult their intelligence and you will be rewarded with LOTS of sales and support.

Remember that RPG'ers are intelligent gamers. We like to think, we like intricacy and complex dialogue. We liked deep puzzles and moral quagmires.  Go back to your roots and all will be well.

This is a troll "invasion".

Look at some other similar threads. These people do not care about BioWare and their games. They are just angry for some reason. Now Im just sure they are SC2 fans (remember a lot of 2010 awards, where SC2 got nothing?). Maybe they think trolling on BioWare forums will help them to win something for D3 this year? :)

Nothing from DA2 should end up in DA3? That suggests there were no improvements, and I'm sorry, but I have to disagree completely. Yes, some things were changed from Origins that should not have been BUT there were also changes for the better. I want them to keep the better graphics, better talents and spells, and better characters (but have more conversation like in Origins), and more plot twists and surprises all of which I enjoyed about DA2.

Origins did companions better as far as dialogue, but DA2 had far more interesting companions. Story wise, I prefer DA2's "Rags to Riches, with treachery and death littered throughout" as opposed to "Save the world!" I prefer Origin's style of environment, because it actually VARIES!!! You hear that? NO MORE RE-USE!!! As far as combat, DA2 is much more tactical and vastly improved. Origins has more content, and did feel longer, even thought I completed both in roughly the same time. Meh, I love both.

I prefer DA2 over DA:O, I hope they keep this up, though I hope they'd come up with more variations to areas. I didn't have problems with anything else.

Frighteningly, Mike Laidlaw (I believe that's his name) has already gone on record, specifically stating that DA2 will lend more to the direction of DA3 than DA:O will. Well, I say "frighteningly" but I know some of you will be happy about this. I guess I can be happy I'll be saving $60, having been forewarned.

Well you save your $60 then, I'm very happy for you.
Maybe you could make a sign, or us here in the UK could have a bank holiday to celebrate your saved $60.
Seriously, I think that's really done.
No rly.

Agree with the OP.

They can keep a few things from DA2 though...

... oh wait, no they can't scratch that. I was trying to think of some but :(

To be honest, I'm pretty ambivalent about the combat system. If they bring back the immersion and RPG depth I'll be more than happy to have real-time combat.

... does not compute. The spells in DA2 were way less varied and way less interesting. They didn't even let you use spells outside of combat rofl!! What of group haste? WHAT OF IT?

Great. Then RPGs could become as static as the shooter market. Devs, don't ruin the one genre that actually continues to have innovation.

This. I liked DA2 because they fixed my major problem with DAO which is the pacing of the battles and the story, both of which (to me at least) moved horribly slow in DAO. Some things I would like to see back in, more customization of your party, less reuse of areas and isometic view. Oh and make it longer. Other than that i liked it.

Riiight dialogue options.Do you remember any of those i wonder?

Right you dont.Because there were NEVER options, there were only appearing as options, and had no consequence to the story.

Now they actually do but you don't seem to notice.

Oh it had puzzles AND riddles eh?Amazing.

In Baldur's gate you often had a bluff option instead of your usually options, depending on a stat if it worked or not.

Does Dragon age 2 have that?

Dragon Age 2 had cinematic dialogue. Does Baldurs Gate have that?
Anyway, stats affecting bluffing is stupid.

I adore both games.  I'd love for them to include story elements of both.  I was totally intrigued with the Grey Wardens during the Qunari attack.  Whatever their mission was, I really hope we get to see it in DA3.

This. The end showed something the Warden & Champion have in common and I'm dying to know just where they are going to take it.

Is this for real?  Did you even play DAO?  The dialogue options effected things in so many different ways.  Wasn't there like three different endings for the elf area? Geez, this guy is crazy.

I remember almost every line of dialogue in DAO it was brilliant, thought provoking and mentally stimulating.

Are you under 25?

IMHO The themes in Dragon Age II are more deeper than Dragon Age: Origins namely taking the mages vs. the Templars/Chantry to it's logically point where a essentionally a war begins between the mages, the templars and the Chantery (Spoilers: Varric makes a comment about most the Templars leaving to persure the mages without restraint). While DA:O only touched on this, but in Dragon Age II we see and we have to choose to a side and best thing is Bioware doesn't paint all of the Templars as sadistic bastrads and the mages are innocent, BOTH sides have their good and bad, and I like that. It would be so easy to paint one side as "evil" and the other side as "good" and that is a good thing in my book.

Dragon Age: Origins was a good game but Dragon Age II despite it flaws is a better game in themematically and it has some really good dialoge as well.
