Don't panic, just make sure Dragon Age 3 has nothing to do with DA2 and everything to do with DAO.

... does not compute. The spells in DA2 were way less varied and way less interesting. They didn't even let you use spells outside of combat rofl!! What of group haste? WHAT OF IT?

Actually I hated playing as mages in Dragon Age: Origins, I loved playing them in Dragon Age II because the spells made more sense to me and I could actually see improvements when I upgraded a spell, plus the mages could hit foes with their staff and some of their their staffs looked like they were badass weapons.

Spend a long time on DA3 and I will buy it.
Remember to add a plot.

DA2 climax was great as a setup for continuation. They shouldn't abandon this idea. They just need to polish more next time.

Stick with DA2 for the combat; stick with Origins for everything else (except silent protagonist).

Great. Then RPGs could become as static as the shooter market. Devs, don't ruin the one genre that actually continues to have innovation.

If by innovation you mean re-using the same tired maps over and over again, and persistent dumbing down to indulge the imbecilities of the CoD generation, then yes, by all means, continue to be "innovative".

What we should learn from this is Bioware can't make D&D style RPGs...

In keeping with the OP's style:

Dear Bioware:

I'm sorry. You've been treated pretty unfairly recently, there's a lot of hate thrown at you and nobody deserves that. Constructive criticism is helpful, rage is not.

That being said... you let me down. I originally played Origins as a cracked copy (gasp!). I was just looking for something to test my new rig out. I played DA:O for a whole twenty minutes before I stopped, uninstalled the cracked copy, went on steam and bought it. I felt that strongly. Shortly afterwards I had bought most of the DLC and Awakening... along with ME 1 and 2. Now I can safely say you are the only gaming company I have no problem supporting.

I fell in love with you guys. And that's why DA2 hurt so much... I came to expect such great things from this series, from you, and I felt so let down. If DA2 was my introduction to your company, I may have never bought from you. The hook drawing me in, present in every one of your other games, just wasn't there. I so looked forward to that hook :(

Don't Panic! It's okay. I forgive you. But you can't repeat this mistake.

Now please, pick yourselves up, dust yourselves off. Maybe go back and play BG2 and DA:O to get back into the swing of things. Learn from this, take the criticism to heart and try to understand why people are so upset. Don't prolong this mistake with a hobbling DLC train I know that's what gets EA all happy in the pants region these days, but at this point it's adding insult to injury. Get back to the drawing board and get fixing this for DA3.

Forget DA2 ever happened and I will too :)

You've got this, and we still believe in you.

Thank You.
A faithful fan.

It's ok Bioware, get up. GET UP! Stop crying.

*picks Bioware up*

Everyone makes mistakes.

We your custom base love you and as a result we're going to pretend that Dragon Age 2 never happened.

But here is what we need from you Bioware. Make sure that nothing from Dragon Age 2 finds it's way into Dragon Age III. I would like to see Dragon Age III as a continuation of Dragon Age Origins with all it's original features.

You can recover from this by going back to your deep RPG roots.  Go back to the old school.  Challenge the masses, don't baby them. DA2 is your wake up call.  Challenge the peoples intellect, don't insult their intelligence and you will be rewarded with LOTS of sales and support.

Remember that RPG'ers are intelligent gamers. We like to think, we like intricacy and complex dialogue. We liked deep puzzles and moral quagmires.  Go back to your roots and all will be well.

This is a troll "invasion".

Look at some other similar threads. These people do not care about BioWare and their games. They are just angry for some reason. Now Im just sure they are SC2 fans (remember a lot of 2010 awards, where SC2 got nothing?). Maybe they think trolling on BioWare forums will help them to win something for D3 this year? :)

Hey buddy

http://starcraft2.ig...ame-of-the-Year

If you gonna dis StarCraft 2, get your facts straight, ******.

Edit: What's with all the idiocy on these forums? I see people bringing up multiple points that aren't even true. Like just last week I heard somebody declare EA owns Valve, I mean really? Wtf? People need to get thier heads out of their asses.

Dragon age 2 its not a great game the only thing improved is the responsivity of the combat... total smashed down cause teleport moves and sci-fi ninja animations... A middle way to fix all things in a sequel if have or if have not race selection (i hope yes) is make a wheel with full written answer not a pointless word that don't mach with your character is going to say.... DA2 is super boring for the most of time all same areas many quests similiar to eachother... A few word and smash kill smash kill...

Absurd Violence:
Im not aganist blood and gore but see an arrow that make all your ennemy explode is utterly stupid... Its stupid also see a rougue that puff and teleport benhind the opponent and make it explode with a backstab.. Next time fix this with add more animation of death or maybe if is a strong blow make the part hit cut... Like arm..Head.. legs.. but please no more corpses maked in pieces with a single blow... Its just... Ridicolus.........

Dragon age origins have a really better dialogue system that add depth to the story and dialogues.. Dragon age 2 have short and bland dialogues.. This break the immersion... Im also surprised that exist people that thinks the dialog wheel with dialogues ala mass effect is more immersive.. No its not because you are forced to be a spectator you have no choice to customize the pshyche of your character...

In the game i felt like i based my decision with icons... I mean.... ICONS!... Lol.. and you continue to call this game a RPG? on what world?....

The graphic seems flat.. All places suffer of a huge lack of details.. All places looks the same... No thanks i prefear origin more.....

And what can i say about the ennemy that comes from the sky?...please bioware i am not aganist action rpg... But dragon age 2 is something horrible also demential in many ways.....

And what about the static elements.. You cant change your companion outfit.. you can't talk to your companions if you are outside of their place.......

Since this game is just a mediocre videogame and a rushed sequel designed only to try in a very disperate manner to looking cool...

There's seriously something wrong with you people if you think there's anything remotely wrong with Dragon Age II.

At best you probably need to stop gaming all together, because you're in it for the wrong reasons.

Dragon Age II is a Masterpiece. The worst thing Bioware could do is listen to idiots like you.

Well, improve the combat so its less repetative, and remove the cartoon body blood explosions (Forced unleased 2, the way you can lop heads and limbs off comes to mind). Include a bit more tactics and better spells and clasess (from DA:O, I loved Arcane Warrior)

If you're going to keep the dialogue wheel, have it more vaired along the lines of DA:O, not three or four variations of the same answer.

Don't make it like Mass Effect. Mass Effect is a shooter RPG! More on action than any kind of role playing. I Don't want another Dragon Effect: The consolization game.

But I generally agree with said person I quoted :)

Sorry for the double post, popped up while I was writing another.

You Sir, are an Arsehat. Its a *decent* game. Not a real RPG game. Even the Final Fantasy games have more RPG than DA2, even with the emo girlie male leads.

DA:O Was epic. It had its faults, but the characters, customization and actual hard and varied combat were much better than DA2.

Another EA game right?

Cut out the bickering and name-calling on both sides, folks, or we're going to be locking this thread.

There are things that were improved in DA2 over Origins, not alot, but some. I personally don't want to return to the emotionless mute that I had had in DAO. I'd like combat speed to be between DAO & DA2, also I really like the DA2 skill trees aswell. Archer's aren't crappy anymore but I prefered it when warriors could use a bow aswell. Warriors & Rogues should be able to switch between bows and close combat. Close combat, Rogues are much better in DA2 than in DAO. These are all my opinions, of course.

Understandable. No one likes being insulted.

Thus, the general post about civility. I usually put those in when things are getting heated all around as an appeal for cooler heads to prevail.

So much complaining...

I'm only a few hours from finishing DAII (had to go on vacation, game is on hiatus 'till I get back) and I love it at least as much as I loved DA:O. The combat on Xbox 360 is way more involved and far less clunky, the graphics have been improved and the voice acting is fantastic in addition to many other fantastic things it as going for it.

If I have any complaints, they would be about the oft-recycled dungeon areas(sewers and caves etc.) and the plot's issue-skirting. I thought that the dungeon thing was a lazy design choice. Sure, the cave looks nice, but why does every Slaver or Varterral have to hole up in the same place? And as for the story, I know I haven't finished it but so far it seems that Hawke is kind of doing everything but attending to the main issues in the game. The general setup is great and so are the side quests, but what he's doing doesn't seem nearly as important as what the Warden did in DA:O.

Overall I really enjoy both games and DAIII should try and utilize the best aspects of both. Keep the combat from DAII, bring back the epic scale of DA:O, and MOAR FLEMETH

Then profit! Good work again BioWare.

I loved DA:O....I also love DA2. DA2's graphics, cut scenes and voiced character I like about 100x more then DA:O. I don't like the lack of different area environments though, but I am sure they will rectify that.

I know some people here don't agree, etc, etc... but i'd hate to lose a voice acted character. I also like the combat more- just my opinion.

You know there's a mod for DA:O that immensely improves the graphics, textures models, etc.

actually, a crap load of mods you can get to improve the game. http://www.dragonagenexus.com
