Don't panic, just make sure Dragon Age 3 has nothing to do with DA2 and everything to do with DAO.

I myself can't wait to see how they do DA3. Origins and DA2 hold nearly entirly different fan bases, so will they be able to find a good blend? Or will one simply get left in the dirt? Either way, I'm excited to see.

This is kinda how I feel.  The games tend toward appealing to different audiences.  I was a big DAO fan, but I'm sure I'll still buy all the DA2 DLC and DA3 when it comes around... but I'm a completionist and Bioware stuck me to the franchise with DAO.

(Let's just hope it doesn't go the way of Star Wars:whistle:)

Dragon Age II is a medieval Mass Effect and you people say it sucks? I loved DAO just as much as DAII but DAII pulls slightly ahead because it seems more....action packed like ME2. Go slam your heads repeatedly into a wall till your sense returns. I will be waiting.

Dude, thats one of the main complaints. If we wanted a game like Mass Effect, we'd play Mass Effect (which I love)

DA is supposed to be an RPG, customize your items, party member items, engaging story etc.

This is why people are silly. They bash DA2 for being like ME2 (which it is not as it has more in common with DA or BG2) yet claim to love ME2.. so, the logic dicates that if DA2 is the fantasy version of ME2 they should love it right? L0LZ

So its better because it is more action packed? Yeah thats not what RPGs are about...

Hey. Hey guys. C'mere. I'll tell you a secret that not many round these parts seem to know.

It's okay to like Origins and Dragon Age 2.

Speak for yourself,i didn't like DA:O at all.

So far i am enjoying DA2.

Yes i play in PC,my favorite game was Planescape Torment, yada yada,i am not as hardcore RPG fan as you so burn me in the stake.

There is no old school RPG guys seriously.Baldur's Gate had complex dialogue?Where everything you said had the same result?

You like puzzles?Like in BG2 where i told a riddle and you answered?Oh but if you are wrong then "LIGHTNING BOLT!"!

Intricacy and plot twists?Name one plot twist in DA:O.

lol guys get a grip, old school RPG never existed like you think it did in the first place.

Next thing, you will all be praising Icewind Dale for it's party interaction and asking to go back to that.

There was only ONE RPG that had the most amazing story you could have. And plot twists, and intricacy, and UNEXPECTED outcomes, because of the story.

Plane scape Tor ment.

End.

Haha, I also agree with you. PS:T makes my jaw drop on replays to this day. That and I'm pretty sure that if that game dropped now it'd be decried by haters as "not being an RPG" for not having the appropriate amount of world-saving and inventory clutter to outfit party companions with.

If DA2 sells more than DA:O, Bioware/EA will use that as justification to screw over fans of DA:O by dumbing down DA3 even more than DA2 was and DA2 will seem like a bad dream compared to the monstrosity DA3 will be should they go that route.

There's seriously something wrong with you people if you think there's anything remotely wrong with Dragon Age II.

At best you probably need to stop gaming all together, because you're in it for the wrong reasons.

Dragon Age II is a Masterpiece. The worst thing Bioware could do is listen to idiots like you.

Clearly they dont listen , and shaped the game for kids and hack&slash fans .

Str8 the fuk up, I DID like DA2 while i was playing, HOWEVER, i was never enjoying that much as I did in DAO...

repeated map drove me NUTZZZ/....

lack of sick items (wheres all the good looking weapons and armor sets??)

I ABSOLUTE HATE when a dagger has more base damage than a two-handed sword. AND a bow has 5 times base damage of a sword.... (wth are u thinking???)

another problem is the attack speed.....good concept to make it looks cooler, but COMON, how can a human wield a massive sword or battle-ax that fast?????

if bio trying to defend themselves by saying this is an ActionRPG, okay, let me ask u this: WHY you took off the awesome animation of fatal blow when you killed a Orge????? How i miss DAO!!! seriously guys, a sword or a bow is NOT a god damn grenade that can explode people to PARTS...messy kill is a such a dumb idea.....PLZ make a sword like a sword, so we can cut off their legs, and they will crawl on the ground then we step on their face to death..Demolishing a enemy has NOTHING to do with cold weapons.......

NOW the story, ok, im not really picky on this. Most of time i just smoke a fat spliff then trying to get myself into the story. fortunately i did enjoy the story. since no spoilers here, im not gonna go deeper to talk about some nonsense missions....

finally, lets say, DA2 is a good game, BUT it failed so bad just because you name after the legendary Dragon Age: Origins. DA2 doesn't deserve to use this name at all. Call it anything you want, but IT IS NOT a dragon age series game. Take look at Diablo and Diablo 2, and stop making fun of yourself bioware. You have much more to do than just making a better game, you need to prove your game deserve my money.

If DA3 has NOTHING to do with DAO, my answer to bioware is simple, im gonna fukking download it....definitely not paying for a fake RPG game.....

One more thing to say: for those who like DA2 more than DAO, i suggest you call DA2 something else.

Common logic here, Bioware made DAO a legendary of RPG, so when they released DA2, all the DAO fans would highly expected a better version of DAO, how simple is that? Just like when we heard Diablo 2 was coming out, we knew we would play a better version of Diablo, same idea applies to every game series.

But sadly in this case, Bioware surely did gain a lot of new fans to DA series, they also disappionted most of DAO players.

For those who played both of DAO and DA2, but truned out love DA2 more. My conclusion for you guys is: you guys are not hardcore RPG fans, if you are not, then you dont have right to talk about RPG...

I've been playing RPGs since before home computing. I haven't finished the game yet. I really like the voice acted character. Combat is better, although over the top in gravity defying leaps. I don't find the "no clear direction" annoying. So far it's been about survival and earning a living to get the the DR. That's as far as I am at this point. DA 2 seems more gray than clear cut about moral quandaries That reflects more of the way things are.

DA2's graphics are an improvement, but only on the console, not the PC. I play on a 360 so there's my bias. I would prefer a more open world where one could travel off the beaten path.

Please feed your elves. I don't see how Fenris can even lift that sword. Maybe I give him a big hammer and see if the hammer swings him. Nah. And make them not so whiny. They weren't as whiny in DAO.

PS: I'm a heretic. I love RPGs and still don't mind some good ol' hack and slash thrown in the mix. I don't care about how accurate weapons are, I mean this is fantasy. If you want to get accurate, how about making it easy to dodge a two handed sword, especially for a rogue. "Alright mage, you're going to get it now. Wait! come back!"

And look at the bright side.... they don't have us killing giant rats for three levels.  I don't mind not doing that either.

I start the DR part tonight. I do wish there was more party interaction, however.

DA:O was more of an RPG, this game is more of a "Kill wave after wave of units and get armor to kill more faster". I mean, there isn't much depth. I would recommend sticking with DA:O and waiting for the next game's release or playing this one by other means.

Because it was!  :innocent:

Really though I think it has more to do with it having the feel of a classic Bioware game, namely the various DnD titles.  A lot of depth and variety for equipment and weapons. Acomplicated game where you play someone shaping and changing the world, etc.

Unfortunately for those disappointed with DA2 this makes DAO seem even that much better.

I love DAO and I played it a ton, but it's not the greatest game in existence.
