I have read here that the + (x)% damage bonus is capped at 30%

I have also found ppl claiming this is set as a max value in properties.xls

I found properties.xls in tools/source/2da but it doesnt seem to have much, and nothing about elemental damage.

I also found someone on the other forum claiming they succesfully changed the damage cap.

Can any helpful soul explain to a nooby how to go about doing this?

I see on the wiki that properties.xls contains tons of info, but my properties.xls when I open it has only like 12 lines of info.

properties.xls has a bunch of different worksheets in a single xls file. Be sure you're looking at the right one.

Also, while I have some knowledgable people paying attention, is there any way to change the bug with +healing recieved being broken using the toolset?

This should work on integrating the damage change:

1) Save a copy of properties.xls and the "ExcelProcessor.exe" utility (in Dragon Age\\tools\\ResourceBuild\\Processors) to another directory (doesn't matter what, this is just a working directory).

2) Change the values you want in that copy of the file ("Cold_Damage_Bonus" row, "Max" column presumably) and delete unchanged rows. The deletion isn't strictly necessary, but it could prevent conflicts if you're using other mods.

3) Run "ExcelProcessor.exe properties.xls" in that directory from a command prompt. It'll create 1 ".gda" file for each tab in properties.xls; you'll only need the one matching the line you changed. (It should be Properties.gda).

4) Copy this .gda file to your override directory (Dragon Age\\packages\\core\\override) and that should be it. Next time you start the game the mod should be active.

The healing bonus appears fine in the code, do you have any proof that it is broken?

Ok, Honestly the 30 % hard cap BLOWS when so many of us have put on equipment that goes way above the 30%... Can we get a MOD that would take some one what 10 minutes at most and link it so we can increase these values or at least make the max limit somethign over 30 % .. all i'm asking is for 100 % of the elements and thats it !! my day is done... actaully if it were 9999 that be better. .. your sacrificing stats for increase damage, so the more you equip these + elemental damage equips the more you lose in other areas as a lot of equip ment that adds to + elemental damage doesn't add other things with exception of morg's robe's and staffs.. If anyone could elaborate on this i would greatly apperciate it.. i'm just Quite pissed and stopped playing till i get this fixed... reason im pissed is i run 3 mages me and the two npc's and i run different magic on all 3.. now i feel gipped cause i can't make with what equipment i have... i mean i sitll can progress in the game but i feel gipped!!

Thank you, kind sir.  I was able (with a little trial and error figuring out the DOS commands) to use these instructions to made some changes I was wanting to make to the game difficulty.
