I'm sure this is in a post already, apologies, but I can't find the search function on the forums any more, so: If Merrill's made off with the Eluvian encountered by Tamlen (and sometimes by the Dalish Warden), how come my Warden was able to pick up a bit of it in Witch Hunt? Is this mentioned at all in the game? Not a big deal, just curious.

Its not really mentioned, but the Eluvian is broken at first and Merrill attempts to repair it throughout
her questline. I never played Witch Hunt, but maybe thats why you get a fragment of it there ?
Merrill begins repairs on the Eluvian some time after the Blight is defeated, its not exactly mentioned when
but I suppose its AFTER the Witch Hunt addon.

She must have missed a bit then, just wondering if there was an explicit "there was only so much room in the bag, couldn't bring it all" or something. Thanks!

No, but as far as I know the Eluvian is never completely restored in DA2.
I remember Merrill going to look for some dalish tool she needs for repairs with the player in her final quest,
only to find out that the Keeper of the dalish had been posessed by a demon all along.
In that particular fight you also battle the spirits of those consumed by the Eluvian, i.e. Tamlen.
That said, the Keeper whose life is tied to the demon has to be killed by Merrill and the entire dalish camp
begins to attack witnessing her killing her spiritual leader.
After that, the Eluvian or repairs on it were never mentioned again as far as I recall.

The tool can be obtained peacefully if you do them a little favour, it still won't help with the mirror though.
The reason the Dalish might attack you (if you make the wrong response after exiting the cave) is because the keeper decided to sacrifice herself to prevent Merril from being possessed. This happens when Merril decides to make another deal with a pride demon sealed on Sundermount, a last resort to fix the mirror. Since the demon dies with the Keeper, there's no way for Merril to finish it as far as I'm aware, I haven't been able to get any further options for it atleast, perhaps in a future DLC? I would like to see the mirror finished or this questline concluded in some other fashion, as long as Merril doesn't go off killing herself in the process :innocent:

In DA 3 maybe its the short travel path
.
Or at least it could be the way out for Morri to finally confront her mother.
