Kinda sucks the developers left it to screw up like that. Hopefully the actual game events will play out properly and it's just the codex that is screwed up.
Anyone with a similar save import know?

Same here. I really hope that is just a glitch though. Anders died in my Awakening game, and his role in DA2 is obviously not a glitch. I hope that the Architect isn't the same thing - it would suck if one of my Warden's most important decisions was retconned away in favour of making a deal with the devil.

Final cut scene the seeker seams to think my warden is still alive. not really. I saw his funeral. i nearly cried.
Pretty sure the Warden they're talking about is the Orlesian Warden you'd play in Awakening if your original one died in Origins.

More and more it seems the Dark Ritual will be in the game actully.
I figured this much when Witch Hunt was announced. Why use a DLC specifically tailored around that choice?
Even awakening suggests that the ultimate sacrifice by the warden wasn't the right ending. So that left Loghain, Alistar, or dark ritual..

As for Leliana, I found out that even if you defiled the ashes and killed Leliana, she's been hand waved back. I did not have any cases myself where I did, but I made a thread asking, and a few people chimed in that they'd killed Leliana, yet she was back.

Commander Shepard was killed at the beginning of Mass Effect 2 and resurrected during Mass Effect 2 as a part of the storyline. Handwaving a dead character back to life in a sequel is a bit different. It would be more like if you let Ashley WIlliams die in Mass Effect, suddenly she's back in Mass Effect 3 with no explanation how she's back.

The ideal way to handle this would probably be to reattribute our post-Origins choices given sacrifice-death to the Orlesian Warden.
Regarding Witch Hunt -- Morrigan's conversation is totally different if you don't take her offer. She gets mad at you for betraying her. So it's not that the DLC assumes you took the deal.

Indeed. Witch Hunt dlc was pretty indicative of that. The ritual must be performed...well, it made the most sense anyways, storywise.
The Old God is around 10 years old now.

Nathaniel? I never saw him! Where was he?
You get a quest outside the chantry from Delilah in Act 3 to go find him. Unfortunately it's bugged and not available to everyone, even when everything else imported correctly.

And so far as I can tell, the following is probably 'canon', at least judging by current indications:
Aedan (or whoever - human noble, anyway) Cousland becomes a Grey Warden, saves the Circle of Magi and the Templars, turns the werewolves back to humans, saves the elves, shunts Bhelen in as King, saves Redcliffe, saves Eamon's whole family, has Loghain executed, puts Alistair and Anora in as rulers, does Morrigan's ritual, kills the Archdemon, becomes Warden-Commander, saves Amaranthine and Vigil's Keep, kills the Architect and the Mother, does whatever that stuff in Amgarrak is meant to be about, then passes through the Eluvian with Morrigan.

Anders being in DAII can be explained by the fact that he's possessed by a spirit. He spends the entire game as a walking corpse, he just didn't have much time to decompose.Red Templar wrote...

No, nothing is canon, they've said that repeatedly. That's the point of letting you import your save game from DA:O. Now, minor screwups like Anders died in your playthrough, or Leliana did, and they are back, well, those are unforunate things I wish they'd taken into account, but they did not.
