If only you could make groups on these forums:

"We love DA2, and are not afraid to say it!"

This. That would be so epic. Everyone would know not to eff with us.

I like DA2 aswell, alot of people do. It's just some people see the flaws in it and it puts them of forever. Hell I loved Gothic 3, even though it was a button mashing brain number.

I'm coming up to the end of the first act, and thus far I'm really enjoying the game.

I agree with the criticisms of the game with respect to re-used areas and can see why some people don't like the waves of re-spawning enemies, especially those that appear from nowhere as opposed to rushing into the area or dropping from rooftops, but none of these issues are game-breaking for me.

I really can't understand the criticism of the writing that I've seen, as I'm enjoying it very much, especially the party banter. I'm finding it tough to choose which companions to use in my team, which is an issue I never had in Origins. Ah well, to each their own. I'm just going to keep on enjoying the game.

I rather like it, and this as a Baldur's Gate to DAO fan (and a classic Fallout fan *grin*).

It's a good game, has excellent and original storytelling, and the combat is definitely improved from DAO.

The greatest compliment I can pay DAII is that I'm thinking about it when I'm not playing it. I love it to bits.

I like that BioWare has gotten flak for years about their Recruit Followers-Go To Four Separate Areas-Plot Twist-Big Bad storyline and what do they do? In 2010 and 2011 they give us a short story collection and an intimate character piece with ME2 and DAII.

I also enjoy how vivid the characters are. They come off as real people instead of the usual Ball-Busting Ice Queen, Bawdy Comic Relief, Vapid Pretty Boy and Comedic Psycho stock character checklist. It's a mark of great writing to make everyone "kinda" funny and not just cram them into predefined roles.

And I like being confined to the city, so sue me. Kirkwall starts to feel like home as you start to wander around and by the end of the game it's become a very tangible stake in the story's main conflict.

Now whether it's better than DAO? The jury's still out. DAII still needs to marinate. And while the recycled areas are a bummer, anyone who's played Mass Effect can weather it.

I love DA2 too, its different from DA:O but in many ways its a good change. There are some flaws to it but nothing is going to be perfect

I'm really enjoying DA2 right now.

I was totally blown away by the combat mechanics. DAO always felt clunky to me. It seemed to be designed more for players who like to pause at every battle, queue up their entire parties actions then watch the action unfold like some movie sequence.
While I do enjoy that sort of game play, I've gotten kind of tired of it from all of the D&D and BG type of games I've played in the past.

In DA2, I was amazed at how you can just rush into battle, quickly fire off a bunch of skills, look around to see if anyone is in trouble, rush over to help, get overwhelmed, rush over to the tank to get helped. More than any other single player game I have ever played, it feels like you're playing an MMO with other intelligent characters. All it's missing is a quick button that you can press to yell "HEAL!" whenever you screw up and grab too much hate.

There are some things I'm unhappy with, but the things I do love about this game far outweigh the negatives.

I love DA2 just as much if not more than DA:O. I honestly can't understand all the haters. Yes I get the reused areas but I can forgive that when you give me excellent combat and a interesting story.

This game should have been named Dragon Age Rise to Power, then I bet it wouldn't have gotten as much flak from the haters.

Still half the game or something in the game but so far I love it. I won't waste your time with the reasons.

Yet?

I enjoyed it - DA2 is a good game despite some flaws. It's just that everyone who's upset with it tends to spam more threads about it so that they can soothe themselves/sroke their egos through bashing the game. At least that's how it seems based on reading most of them.

I LOVE DA2! Finished it last week...and let me tell you...the characters stole the show for me. They were so well done...and the party banter alone made me want to play the game! Not only that, but the romance with Isabella was one of the major things that kept me going. It was amazing.

I loaded up the forums to look up a quest real quick, and I'm bombarded with threads about how terrible DA2 is, how boring it is, "stop making console games" etc.

I'm honestly surprised.  I like DA2 more than I liked DAO.

I find the main character to be more interesting.  While not as epic as Morrigan, I'm really enjoying my companionship with Fenris.  He's an interesting character, imo.

The story is interesting.  I am happy there isn't a typical "go to 3 seperate areas, do things there, then meet up at the end and kill a big bad dude" type storyline that has been around since Baldur's Gate.  They experimented with a persistant city, and I LIKE it!

I like knowing that my interactions with Thrask changed the story later.  How me saving a Templar from Blood Mages changes the story.  How I get updated years later from a boy I helped out of the Circle.

Kirkwall feels like a living city, and it feels like my actions have consequences.  During act 1, I cheated the smuggler chick out of her money.  Then, when I visited Hightown at night, she ambushed me!  That was awesome!

And the combat is easily the most entertaining combat I've ever played.  It's fast paced, fun, and interesting.  I get to use my wide variety of spells on different monsters to different effects.  I queue up class-combos and dominate things.  I feel powerful when I visit lowtown in act 3 and get attacked by thugs I 1-shot with fireball.  I feel like my character has changed - instead of being the same throughout each act.

Kudos to Bioware.  I love it.  Thanks for experimenting.

Quoted For Truth.

I agree Dragon Age II is far better than Dragon Age: Origins  in almost everyway (except for Hurlocks redesign) I having an absolute BLAST playing it. I absolutly HATED playing as a mage in Dragon Age: Origins now I love playing the mages in Dragon Age 2.

Bioware took a chance in experimenting in a new kind story and art style (that for the most part I don't mind) and the ending sets up a TON of potentional directions for Dragon Age III.

Well, I guess you've got your answer, and quite a few nice reviews here as well. No, you're not the only one, in fact some of us have been in there fighting the good fight most of the weekend, trying to open some eyes and convince people to give the game a real chance. I am enjoying DA2 much more than the first Dragon Age and can't wait to see what they do with some of the DLCs for this one.

I here you brother, but just like us, they're set in their ways. Some don't like changes, and are too snobbish with their "I LIKE MY RPGS THIS WAY!!" And others have pretty good worries. In the end, it's all opinion. They'll hate, and we'll enjoy a fantastic set-up to the end of a legendary series.

My copy should be arriving today. I'm optimistic because it seems that the smallest minority of critics actually have a copy of the game, whereas the majority of people who are enjoying the game, actually own a copy.

I like DA2 way more than I liked DA:O. Yes, it have flaws, most of which were in Origins, but I didn't have problem with them back then, so I don't see why I would now.

To me, DA2 have a much more engaging world, probably because I don't feel pushed to save the world for once. Also, I think the game have the best group of companions in a BioWare game so far. I actually find them all interesting (I usually only care about 1 or 2), now the entire group is interesting and I actually like rotating my party...Of course, the game is probably BioWare funniest game ever, it's worth replaying just for the companions comments.

I will replay it a few times just to see how thing changes by my decisions too.

You're not the only at all. I was only disappointed how it ended.
It left so many holes like the first one. Are they going to combine the first and the second one
to make up all the untold plots? I wish we had a little more freedom in our races, that's the only thing I wanted. I loved how the Elves looked in this game. I wanted to be one.

I love it a lot, especially the story. The flaws, like reused maps, don't really bother me, I can look past that but I hope they don't do it as much in the next game.

I don't want to say anything in the no spoilers area, but I think the ending implies that there's something bigger going on than just what happens in DA2. I get the impression that there's a larger threat that certain persons might be trying to deal with.

Not much to add except to say I'm also loving it, but I did find it a little hard to get into in the first half of the first act. Maybe that's part of the trouble - some people are having trouble getting into it at the start, and then not playing long enough to get to the Epic. That said, even by the end I do get the distinct impression of a middle act, an unfinished story waiting for a sequel.

Did you like the Ogres? I thought they looked a bit silly.

Other than the lack of enviromental variety, the lack of reasoning behing the PC's actions and some of the music I thought it was pretty good. Still, another year in developement would've been for the best.
