I think we're forgetting about one huge thing which is Flemeth she is gonna be a huge part at some point in the story and lets not forget about the child you have with Morrigan if you chose to have it because in Witch Hunt she says that child has a huge destiny so maybe you get to play as that child when its older and battle Flemeth.

@Topic

I was also thinking about this. I don't think it's right that the third game revolve around either the Warden or Hawke. Either go for a new character, or revolve the story about these two guys.

You never met your human parents before the GAME in Origins. Why are you doing this now? I swear, you guys are full of double standards.

My warden was an elf, so with the new look, She'd look very different...
The comment at the end od DA2 implies they both still have a role to play and with the cantry hunting Hawke it imples (s)he has a major part to play. Of course it could just be off screan parts they play, or they could be npc's (I hope not as I don't like the idea of seeing the chars I spent many hours with controlled acting differently than I would have had them.)

So, either we get to control them at some point (Imagine 3 way conversations where you controll everybodies responses... that would be interesting (not sure if I mean in a good or bad way)) or all their activities are off screen and we just get to hear about it in dialogue or in the epilogue.

I don't think it'll happen, but why do people think each race needs its own VA?

idont think so either, think about these points

Wardens Death
bioware stated countless times its the world not the character
dragon age 2 states the warden died, so no canon there

1 final point if your warden died it means there was no god child otherwise your warden be alive and kicking so basing dragon age 3 on that child would be bull shi to allot of people

The Warden's story is OVER. Move on already.

I haven't played DA:A yet, but from what I've read about the endings... no, no it is not.

If you choose Hawke, you get a conversation wheel and a voiced protagonist. If you choose the Warden, you get the list of replies and a mute character.

No. No matter who will be the protagonist, the character must be fully voiced.

speaking of impossibility.

1. no meaning if two characters have a same roll.

2. game is going to be even more incomplete than DA2. Character has differetn relations with surrounding. if you create diff envirnoment for both warden and hawke, guess what would happen. gameplay will be literally chopped.

So I don't want it even if bioware could do this.

Hah. That reminds me of KOTOR. People thought that in KOTOR 3, Revan and Outcast will team up as well. Riiiiiiiiiight :)
As much as I love my warden, I realize that his/her story is over. :crying:

That would be too much like Revan meeting the Exile, in other words: overkill.

Though this seemed to be where the story was potentially heading at the end of KOTOR 2, to bad KOTOR 3 didn't happen.

But I would like to see in DA3 at least the opportunity to play either Warden or Hawke (depending on you're choice maybe the other dies or something).  The VO would be problematic but I hope they drop the voiced PC in the next one ;) (even though they probably won't)

But given the ending of DA2 I don't think the Warden's story is over (and I know my cannonical one is somewhere beyond the Eluvian with Morrigan and OGB, preparing to 'face the future', whatever that means)

Honestly bringing the Warden back wouldn't be hard. You load your save game, use a character editor to remake he/she with the new graphics engine, give him/her a choice of voice and voila! No brain science involved. If theres only 1 male and female voice so be it... And with the ending of DA 2 the Warden must come back at some point. If you killed him/her, then that should be reflected in your game and could be replaced by a new warden that took his/her place (or even the Orlesian Warden you can make in Awakenings.

However, I hope the DA franchise continues past a trilogy. I'd rather have a new hero for DA 3. Orlais, Tevinter or Navarro seems like all good choices for a game setting. Then in DA 4 (I know, wishful thinking) They all band together for the sake of Thedas. Either a war vs Flemeth or vs Morrigan and child or vs The Devine. Personally would like to see a fight between the Heroes (Playable characters from all the DA games) teamed up with the Divine to go against Flemeth and the Tevinter's Divine. With the possibility to recruit Morrigan and her child and the most powerful of all character in the DA universe, the master of enchantment, the man of many words SANDAL.

Mike Laidlaw has confirmed here that their intention is to introduce a new character with each instalment, which is not to say that neither the Warden nor Hawke will appear in some NPC capacity, that's always a possibility. Personally, I was looking forward to a DA3 continuing Hawke's story 'cause I don't think DLC can properly round up DA2. I understand where he's coming from, and indeed I do the same thing when writing, but a lot of players, myself included, always look forward to recurring PCs and absolutely hate to adapt to new ones... unless the new PC proves to be a badass.;)

i don't see how that is going to happen seeing how the Warden can die in Dragon age Origins, of coruse there could be some Cerberus Type group, in the wardens who spend 2 years bringing him back with magic.

Well, judging by the end of the game, Hawke and the Warden will both have some sort of presence in DA3.

I don't mind my Hawke or my warden to have some sort of cameo, but not together. I doubt that my Hawke and my warden could be in the same room. My Hawke thinks my warden is a selfish b*tch who abandoned the wardens (and Anders who is my Hawke's Li), and my warden would think that Hawke is self rightouthes and has complicated my warden's life unnecassery by starten the mage-templar thing. I honestely wouldn't put those two in the same room. It wouldn't be pretty.

If Hawke and the Warden were in the same game if they could be in a party together then it would take the need for a team almost completely at least in my opinion.

But neither Hawke or the Warden will be the protagonist for DA3, ML's already stated that they'll have a new one for DA3. I foresee a mention/cameo for both is all.

They are characters that never meet but they are the main heroes of the series. Hawke may come close to crossing paths with The Warden one day but that's it. That's if your Warden is alive anyway. He disappears "mysteriously" along with Hawke so Bioware may be hinting at them teaming up. Why would there be 6 voices for the Warden anyway? They'll just choose one - for male and female - and disregard your voice selections from Origins if The Warden was to returned fully voiced.

I don't see it being done anyway. It'll be cool but...we'll see. Perhaps when you switch to The Warden, all conversations initiated by him will be spoken by him and Hawke speaks based on his personality. At the start of the game, you play as Hawke, hacking away at mages or templars or whatever and then he gets into a tight spot and then suddenly, you're playing as The Warden who ends up in the same place as Hawke and that's how they meet.

I dunno. It'll be cool if it was done but as stated previously, each Dragon Age game is about a new hero. Will the hero of Dragon Age 3 disappear "mysteriously" too? If so, I forsee the final Dragon Age game staring all the protagonists of Dragon Age in some way...how...I don't know. Maybe The Maker has been stealing them and preparing them - as his knights - for some sort of judgement day?

But You Manually created your warden and if there isnt a save upload or something then they will spoil your warden by creating another one by computer the same with hawke but i think that it would be great. : )

Cousins or not, Hawke and the Warden would no doubt try to kill one another... at least in any game based off my files. As cool as that might be (in theory), I still say leave it alone.

what about a split story maybe you play as your warden with morrigan preparing for the war against flemeth in one end of the world and maybe meanwhile you can also play as hawke in orlais/tevinter and somehow the stories intertwine?

Six voice actors to do the VOs of the main character for the entire game? I really, really doubt that will ever happen.
