To hell with hawkes. BioWare can get two voice actors - one for male and one for female protagonist. No matter the race. Well, unless they repeat their fail with pre-set race again.

DA2 made no sense, why go back in time, with some new char,DA is about the warden, all they needed to do was make the warden needed to thwart a new threat, bring back the old chars from DA:O (all of them) and it would be win,win,win.

I was thinking ( and I understand this would drive cost and time up a lot, but it would make a great story for the gamers...by a lot) that we could play as either our warden, voiced by Robin William as he can do any voice, male or female. Then we get one aspect of the storyline of DA3, we have Morrigan, Oghren, Leliana and Zevran in our party and we see half of everything. To get the complete story, we need to also play as Hawke, with Merrill, Varic, Isabella, Carver/Bethany in our party. Then we see the other half. And have the two different protagonists run afoul each other multiple times, sometimes helping each other, sometimes fighting each other (if their goals conflict with each other). Not necessarily party members as that would ruin immersion for me, having played both, but would make for an interesting story arc, one that isn't complete without both points of view.

It really isn't. The first game was about ending the blight. The whole purpose of the Wardens is to fight the darkspawn and the blight. His story is done.

Seriously, as the Warden is the way the player chose it to be, it wouldn't have the personality to fit every way we imagine him. How could the game tells the difference between the "I'm a blood mage because I love blood MWAHAHAHA" and "I'm a blood mage, but using it for good"? ^^'

I want the Warden as the main protagonist. Then my main compainion is my Mabari homie.
But the game has a new feature that allows your compainions to have thier own seperated companions (companion of compainions).
So my Mabari will have a poop cleaner upper named Hawke from DA2 that actually runs behind my posse picking up Mabari freshies while we adventure around.
That would be rad

Truth be told, I felt more connected with Hawke than I was with the Warden. though I would much prefer a new protagonist, since Dragon Age is about Thedas itself than the Warden or Hawke.

(note: have not played this game sense release.) In all seriousness... Niether..don't want hawke, don't want the Warden because neither one are interesting.
Yeah I said it.. the Warden is not Interesting and Hawke was to busy trying to be Shepard not being Hawke get it?
and the Archdemon and Meridith on go kick rocks as antagonist... Arch demon ... that possessed old god dragon was lacking in the demon department.
the Sloth Demon was more interesting.

I think it would be great to have them team up! I want to see both of them in DA3. It would be cool to have them both and some of your other companions and make it so that on some quests you need to be the Warden and some quests you need to be Hawke. Sure bring in some new npc's maybe have some old faves show up for some quests like Tallis in DA2.

I wanted The Warden to return so bad but then I realized it might be too much to ask for since The Warden could be a variation of different races and backgrounds. Just to see The Warden and Hawke even separately would be enough for me but it would be cool to have one of them could be at least a temporary companion.

I'd be happy with cameos for both. Actually I think they'd have a greater presence if the characters in the game were constantly talking about them rather than Hawke and Warden being protagonists or companions. The story's moved on, but I'd still like to know they're stilll around and remembered.

Jorina raises a good point. In addition to slaughtering the Dalish Warden's clan, Hawke could be at odds with the Warden over several other plot points (killing Anders, for instance).
