I really enjoyed my SnS Warrior. Using the Maker's Sigh I tried him both as Tank and DPS. I definitely prefer the DPS style. I finished my first play through at level 22 with the following stats/abilities (on "Hard" difficulty):

52 STR, 20 WIL, 35 CON (rest base)

SnS Tree: Shield Bash + Upgrade, Scatter + Upgrade, Assault + Upgrade, Shield Defense (pre-req)
Vanguard Tree: Everything except upgrade on Control (since I run Might full time)
Templar Tree: Holy Smite (no upgrades)
Reaver Tree: Devour + Insatiable, Blood Frenzy, Sacrificial Frenzy (no upgrade)
Battlemaster Tree: Bolster, Second Wind + Both Upgrades, Deep Reserves

I believe that works out to exactly 26 points. I spent my gold on Black Emporium armors so I didn't have enough left for the ability tomes.

I tried adapting the "Ultimate Vanguard 2H" build to my S&B Warrior. For the most part it went pretty well.

I'm at level 9. I haven't bothered with Shield Defense. This warrior is purely offensive. What's good about the Shield warrior is that even without Shield Defense or Turn the Blade or any Defensive technique, he just soaks up damage like a sponge. Basically rush into a mob for one big hit, pop Cleave, then go with Assault, Shield Bash and Scatter. By then I'm out of Stamina, but I've got Bolster, so I take off and rejuvenate myself. It can be tough going in some battles but for the most part, my party can mop off the rest of the mobs. I have their tactics set up so they attack who I'm attacking unless I'm not attacking anyone.

I've only wiped once so far, and that was during the Blackpowder mission. Those damn Qun wiped me out 3 times. When I basically had to kite and wait for the CD for potions to wear off... didn't feel like much of a warrior then. lol. My party consisted of Varric, Anders (died. Freaking useless) and Merrill (Blood mage. She survived but was acting glitchy. I think my tactics weren't set up right.)

Anyway, that fight was discouraging, because I'd done it before with a Defensed-up Shield Warrior and I didn't wipe once. Ah well. I shall forge ahead!

That's close to what I've got going now. Also playing on Hard. I think I'll roll with this and see how it goes.
