And to answer that topic simply, I love Bethany to much and I hate Carver to much.
I have only reached act2 so far but my impressions of Bethany is that I love that character
And I played 1-2hours as a mage in act1 with Carver and decided that I wont do that again ever.

And speaking with my friends they kinda feel the same way, everyone is hating Carver but loves Bethany.
So is the same thing going on on the internet aswell, is Bethany loved by everyone and Carver hated? 

You should finish the game as mage before you decide how much you hate Carver. Yes he's an ass, but the relationship between Hawke and him is written really well, and at the end of the game(SPOILER) he comes around shows that he really is a good man and knows the value of family.

I hate carver too, although I thought I had him with my mage because she was a female. I played as a male warrior and I loved Bethany. I got her killed though which made me depressed.

I have a policy that says i won't reload bc of the actions i take, els there's not much point in the fact that the game changes with your decisions, IMHO. - So when I "killed" Bethany I was like, WHAT!?... I was litterly so depressed the rest of the day. I gotta give Bioware a lot of credits for the work with bethany. I haven't completed the game yet, but so far she's the char i have "fallen most in love with".Nice work Bioware, but i have to say i hate you for making me kill her =,( although i know she can live, but that includes making her joining the Wardens which is a death sentance anyway, OR she will be forced joining the Circle and i know that she would rather die. I just find it sad i cannot have her im my party all the game, especially since she's my sister =,(

He reminds me of my relationship with my older brother. Bethany was sweet, but I just couldn't rally behind her like I am with Carver.

Mage play through #2 comenced!
