I'm in Act 2 in the quest Forbidden Knowledge, tasked with destroying Tarohnes tomes of dark magic. I have found some of them but I'm having problems finding ones I'm missing. Does anyone have the complete loctions and numer of tomes I have to find to complete this quest? Or at the very least tell me what the reward is?

The reward is one of the best fights in the game. The tomes are hidden in the caves outside Kirkwall, as well as in the city of Kirkwall.

Quick Thread Highjack: Can you still fight the demon if you read the tomes? I always destroyed them to be sure^^

Well I've never destroyed any of them in hopes of learning a secret talent, like blood magic. Such was not the case. After I read the first one I did get two attribute points to spend and a fight with Revenant, Abominations and Desire Demons broke-out in every case for keeping the tomes.

A cave at the west end of Sundermount, next to the western exit.
Newly opened passage Cave is known as the "Abandoned Thaig" and has a nexus golem with wares in the middle chamber with the tome
A cave at the east end of The bone Pit (outside the mine). Inside the location is called "Rotting Cave"
A cave in the northern middle parts of The Wounded Coast. It should be named "The Dank Cave" and is not marked on your map. Note that this cave is inaccessible later in the game.
In The Chantry, on a table from the southern stairs, second floor.In the Tiscounts Keep, eastern part on a table near the throne.
You have to destroy all 5 to get the Boss fight. Important to note you still get +2 Attribute Points at teh end, so no reason to keep them, (they only sell for about 4g), or read them because you can only read one and you still get the points later.
