im thinking of making a tank... but my problem is that i would like alistair to be in my party. And for what i could see he seems to be a tank.

So question is, will i be able to lvl up alistair to do some dps?

Probably. Just switch him over to 2-handed weapons or dual-wielding.

Yup you can. Most of the people who played didn't make their PC the tank so they keep him as tank.

I was under the impression that most warriors will be hybrid tanks/DPS in DA:O, even the sword and board warriors.

It seems to me that Alistar joins your party super early, and since you can control what talents they choose on level up I don't see any problem making pure DPS

i'm sure you'll be able to allocate the stats how u see fit, if u can turn off auto-allocation in DA:journeys i'm sure DA:O has it....

i love makin my main the tank too, i'll prob use a Dwarf noble or Human noble as my tank and make allistair a dps, prob 2-h sword...tho my dwarf looks much more bad ass ;)  lol

There is no "I" in team. =)

With the amount of damage the mobs deal out and how agro isn't as static as that other game, you'll probably be tanking quite a bit as well.

There's nothing really wrong with having two tanks in a party. Most shield and board abilitys knock enemies over/stun so they're always useful.

all warriors are tanks.. they have the health pool and the heaviest armor. There are talents in all the style trees that let you avoid the dangers of close combat as well. Sword and Board CAN do damage. The only "Tank" skills in the game are threaten and taunt. My 2 handed warrior runs with threaten on if needed.. try to branch out from the mindset of previous games for this one. My two killers are both warriors and one is a sword and board.

So far from what I have seen I don't see any reaosn why you can't be a good tank. I wonder how many people are actually trying to tank in the game.. Not many I'm sure, I just got the game and that was my 1st step. I want to tank, it'll be fun.

You can have 2 tanks at once and also work well in most battle, even dragons. :)
