The distortions are just animation problems. I really like the new design myself, specially on Merril, hehe.

 I like the new elves. In my opinion, Origins elves looked like cosplay humans with pointy ears.  These elves look like an actual separate race from humans.  I also like how, within this framework, there are still attractive ones and not so attractive ones.

What, you trolling? Have you even played Dragon Age Origins?

I am one of the people who likes the new elf model.
In my eyes they actually look like a different race now. I find it boring to see the same beautiful humans with pointy ears style. 
I don't think the elves here are supposed to be all hot and beautiful. They are a race struggling to survive and earn their place in the world. That is where their beauty comes from.

And is it me, or do their eyes really stand out sometimes? I love them! ^-^

Terrible. Just terrible. I really hope Bioware goes back to the DA1 Elf model. I liked that WAY better, and since my Warden was Dalish (see my icon) I am just fixed on how he is supposed to look.

Seems that only the main character elves are decent looking, in their own way. If given smaller heads they're fine. The background decoration elves are pretty ugly though.

I don't think you could have a female qunari as a party member. Females are not allowed to be warriors according to the Qun, that goes for the Saarebas as well. From what I gather from the things I have read Saarebas are all male mages I wonder if they just kill them if there female.

That's what story telling is for. Pretty sure the devs could write in why a female Qunari would pick up a weapon.

im just not a fan of those welsh accents or, to be more accurate, not a fan of the idea of having MY elf from Origins, Awakening, or any future Dragon Age game where I can create elves, being limited to the Welsh accent.

i don't mind the accents on the NPC's from the game.

some of them. those elves in the blooming rose look like anorexic drug addicts with too much make-up.

Has more to do with the weird looking texture and color.Remember they only had cameo in dragon age 2  .. i doubt they wasted week of salary into their appearance in this sequel.

I know elves are different and thus should look different. But no, i hate them! Love thge new qunari, hate the elves!

It might be vain to prefer the older look but i really do. I know people demanded a more elven look but... no i cant stand them. Fenris and Merril are bearable but just about.

And meeting chars from DAO... it just hurts, where hath the pretty gone

Please say this isnt the 'fixed' look

The only issue I had with the old elves was the ears needing to look more elfish. Now they made them look alien, I have to tell myself their 'Visitors' just to tolerate looking at them.

I don't know if their is a romance for any of the elves but I can tell you with that look, its never gona happen!

When you dislike a game you always see more faults with it, if you're positive about the game you'll think it's no big deal. It's just how most people work.

And yes i found the elves atricious myself, i prefer continuity and elves suddenly changing looks is weird to me, same with the qunari (the models for qunari are fine though).

And what's wrong with Orlando Bloom? I'd rather have elves without H (why the frak did they need to change Origins Lore too? Elvhes? bah!) and looking more like Tolkien described them; proud, tall, beautiful and wise; than this half-breed between Avatar natives and some animal I still can't figure out which is it? Goats and cows have been mentioned...

And the iris,,, holy sh*t... what the frak is that? We know Elves can see farther and have extreme accurate senses but that looks like something out of a Japanese cartoon!

Replace Ilúvatar with the Maker and this are the Elven race we should have in DA2. And come on, there are so much "inspired" by LotR in Origins and DA2 already

I would agree. Playing DA2 you would believe the reason the brothel is packed with elves is because they are more pleasing to the human eye than human women/men . Yet in the game the exact opposite is true, the human women look a whole lot more attractive than the elven women and the elven men look just as bad.

Stuff that looks and feels okay will contrast with stuff that looks and feels awkward and out of place.

And in profile view, their faces are horrendous. The way their faces slope from forehead to nose resembles the Na'vi from Avatar way too much.

@OP, Sorry but your elf looks awful. No offence but if all elves looked like that I couldn't play the game.

They look allright, but honestly, what was the designer team thinking when they gave them those freakishly tall necks(it's evebn more obvious on Merrill upgraded armor)?
