..the anti-mutant sentiment in X-Men?

Mutants are considered very dangerous because they have special powers, some do bad things, others do good, but people always look at them as all bad. They also want all mutants exposed/registered, and imprisoned.

Anybody could be born a mutant just as any child could be born a mage, they both start showing signs at a certain age.

And there is a school where Mutants can go to study and learn to control their talents(Xavier Institute = Circle of Magi)

It just hit me how similar that is. I smell inspiration.
