Why is it that so many people seem to take issue with Isabella's sexuality, but almost no one mentinos Zevran in a negative light? Seeing as both characters have a similar behavior towards sex, it would see logical for both of them to have the same number of hating them as those who like them.

Makes sense, no?

I don't understand the hate towards Isabella. I loved taking her with me in my party because all of her conversations with the other party members were about sex and they were funny.

Maybe because that even though we live in these modern both sex created equal times, it is still more accepted in society when men behave casual toward sex than when a woman does it?
Sort of like it's more ok for an older man to be with a younger women, but not the other way around (not counting Hollywood at the moment Image IPB ).
...not saying it is ok to think like and I certainly don't agree with it, but I would imagine this is the reason, sort of like why some have a really hard time accepting gay relationships in the game.

Because people are uptight and love being politically correct and/or sitting on a high horse. Because apparently to them, if you appreciate Isabela's sexual nature that i means your some virgin nerd sitting in your mom's basement jerking off to porn. Its stupid really.

I liked when Zevran and Isabella met (I kept her in my party because of hilarious Varric/Bella interaction :D)... they had a lot to talk about

Narrow mindedness. That is all. They're just mad because BioWare made a sexy, interesting character this time around.

The only issue I have with Isabela is that she looks absolutely nothing like her character in DA:O. Other than that, I utterly adore her.

The sexual thing doesn't bother me, I just don't find her interesting at all. Felt the same about Zevran, but at least he had a little more interesting backstory, a reason for the veneer.

How's her story not interesting? Not to mention its rather integral to the main plot.

I do agree that it's a double standard, and not necessarily something born out of principle. But, even if it was a principle thing, why be so upset over any character that behaves in a coquette manner? If anything I found it to be a charm of the character.

She feels one-dimensional to me; I think it's more the pirate persona than anything else. Despite her importance to the plot, her personality and characterization seem cookie cutter. It doesn't "upset" me in any way, I'm just kind of "meh". Has nothing to do with her being sexual, as I said before.

Perhaps it was the way I played, but I never got any sort of backstory on her.  No idea why she was who she was.  Or, even *who* she was at all, outside of the shellac she wears in public.  If that's *not* just a persona, then it's fine, just sort of "meh" for me.  Don't get me wrong, she has some hilarious lines.

Well that's something of an error on bioware's side. Characters wont  really open up about themselves unless they're love interests. However, I would agrue that Isabella has a really compelling back story, which explains a lot about her character.

I had no problem with her sexuality. Her party banter was at least half the reason to drag her along. My problem is that I never got any back story on her and then she left. I got plenty of background on Zev and he never stabbed me in the back. So she just ended up being a one note character for me. I didn't miss her when she was gone and I would have liked to miss her since she was so funny.

Zev has a sexy accent, whereas Bella does not. Zev is also much, much more honorable when he wants to leave you.

Zev sounds like Antonio Banderas... Also, Zevran tried to kill me the second we stumbled on The Crows. At least Isabella didn't try to kill me, at least not directly.

Besides, british accents are way more alluring than faux spanish ones.
