No modmakers seem to care about getting such eyes. Propably best to just wait an year or so and someone might have made a mod like it.

Or wait a week, the games only 6 days old and there are already 25+ mods for it and there isn't a toolset yet. Thats not too shabby for 6 days after release. Lots of people working really hard right now with what they have I consider the mod progress with the lack of a toolset somewhat inspiring.

Will there be a toolset released for DA:2?

I'm guessing Meredith's Sword could be a simple model swap that someone will come up with within the month. It is way too cool to pass up lol.

So I just figured out how to model swap and add properties to items by editing the savegame. I haven't really figured out how to make a mod of it all yet, but maybe I can at least edit Meredith's sword into the game. I just need the TEMPLATERESREF value that it is named.

Given the similarities in file structure I'd assume that even without a tool set being released, the modding community could probably design some third party apps that could get the job done.

BW hasn't come down and said yes or no on a tool set for DA2 yet, they've indicated they'd like to do one but haven't committed to doing one yet. Regardless of that the override system is pretty much the same as DA:O's its all a matter of having the ability to get at the resources in an efficient manner, or being able to pack resources into an override that uses file types the platform will accept.

It just takes time, til theres a tool set. But as I said 25+ mods pre-tool set release, for a game that is only 6 days old is very impressive and is pretty good news for the DA2 modding scene whether BW releases a tool kit or not. Cause one way or another, the modding community will mod this game. Its already proven possible using understanding of DA:O modding and a little reverse engineering...so if a tool set is not released, for whatever reason (BW doesn't have the time, EA wants to not put one out to try to sell more DLC..whatever) its not going to stop us from making the game better.

Just be sure to tip your hat to the people that churn out the third party apps, as they'll have done the hardest parts. Once there are tools, there can be art. Such is the way of things.

There's a tutorial on dragonagenexus that explains how to swap models for your party members, you can have meredith in your party, I'm unsure about the sword though.

We totally should have gotten the sword for beating the game.
