Looks like an asari.  Maybe someone can focus in a bit but the skin seems somewhat purple and we've seen asari with that skintone before.

I don't think it is Batarians, the helmet is completely wrong for it to be a Batarian.  If you look the helmet only has two eye holes whereas Baratians have 4 eyes.

I know they have similar helmets but if you look at the Batarian helmet it is mainly glass to allow the Batarians to see out of all four eyes.  However the helmet of the guard at the front of the pic only has two eye holes.

I get the feeling this is a new race, I am 99% sure the guard isn't Batarian and I am not sold on the guard being human either, the helmet at the back tapers off at the back compared to human helmets.
