Every thread with "Arrival" on the title skyrockets.

The prospect of these mercs actually being indoctrinated humans makes sense. The helmets don't seem to be for batarians leaving humans and asari. I doubt a human or an asari would really betray the galaxy by helping the reapers without indoctrination. similar to Saren. The doctor could have found information crucial to you achieving your goal. Possibly a weakness of the reapers or she is working on some sort of super weapon. Why else would you focus on this one person out of everyone else and why would the reapers focus on her. Just speculation, hope we get more for tomorrow.

Those aren't mercs, they're Batarian soldiers, because you go to Batarian planets. Asari do not use male armor and Batarians use the same helmets and armors as Humans. Did anybody play Bring Down the Sky? Click my sig link for more info on the achievements on the DLC, they explain quite much.

They are Batarians, didn't anyone read the achievements? The girl is obviously the kidnapped doctor and those are Batarian soldiers, not mercs.

When Bioware released this screenshot they said if they got 1,000 retweets or 750,000 facebook impressions they would release a second screenshot tomorrow.  The picture has been retweeted more than 1,000 times so I imagine Bioware will honour their side of the "deal" so to speak.  This was the tweet :-

There is no evidence to suggest those guards are Batarian, the helmets lend weight to the theory that they are NOT Batarian.  No one is suggesting there aren't Batarians in the DLC just that the guard isn't a Batarian.

No, your avatar is Clint Eastwood in N7 armor, because they are Batarians. And they are Batarians because I say so  BioWare is too lazy to make special helmet design for the Batarians just for one DLC, but they don't want anybody to know that the Batarian military actually uses clone troopers.

Every helmet in the game is the same helmet (NPC gear at least) just with diffrent faceplates. For example, the N7 helmet Shepard is wearing while on the burning Normandy SR1 is exacly the same helmet any random mercenary in the galaxy has on his/its head, just with a diffrent visor plate on it. Also, hate to breake it to others, therea already are Batarians wearing those helmets in game (as there are no other helemts there), just with faceplaets removed entirely (Sergeant Cathka). There is only one helmet model in the game for Asari, Human and Batarian troops. Just like 90% of the galaxy is running around in the same set of armor just with diffrent paintjobs on it.

Have fun dealing with it.

Looks like a little something to whet the appetite.
Hard to tell if it's batarians, certainly some evidence points to that but looking at the helmets... batarians have four eyes... why only two eye slots in the helmet? Ah well, fingers-crossed another screen is released tomorrow!

Because EA/BioWare discovered facebook and they keep on thinking on more idiotic ways of using it for promotional purposes. Wait untill they start coding bar-codes inside of bar-codes, inside of minigames inside of downloadable content unlockable on their facebook game. And you'll need a special decoding ring from cheerios to get it right.

There is absolutely NOTHING in that screenshot that suggests the guards are Batarian.  The only reason people are even thinking they might be Batarian is because of some miscellanious crap that was found in the appearance pack (which may or may not be used we don't know), but hey you have fun dealing with that eh
