First of all anyone who says Dragon Age II gets a kick in the quad.

Now that that's settled, what do you think is so far the worst game of the year?

I think Super Mario Brothers all Stars for the Nintendo Wii is the worst.  To think that the best they could do for Mario's 25th anniversary is port over a 17 year old SNES game so lazily that they couldn't even bother to remove the SNES controller graphics on the control screen is a disgrace to Nintendo's gaming legacy.
Also, the packaging sucked and left out a lot to be desired.

Second worst is Test Drive Unlimited 2.  After the racing masterpiece that was Need for Speed:Hot Pursuit, TDU2 was a MASSIVE disappointment.  The free roam mode sucked, everything except for the car models looked awful and the game couldn't decide whether it wanted to be a simulator or an arcade style racer.  CRAP racing game!

I think I've managed to miss anything that was genuinely appalling, though I've only played perhaps half a dozen new games so far this year. Perhaps Two Worlds II had the weakest start, ironically because the professional voice acting was even worse than its predecessor, though once it gained momentum it was a lot of fun.

I feel rather let down that I don't have something that's really worth moaning about!

Edit: I can do a "worst quest", though: the end of the otherwise excellent Dragon Knight Saga was utter pants.

Magika. It's a good example of a game that could have been good but suffers from bad gameplay design that just spoils it.

Fallout: New Vegas. I'd probably like it a lot if I could actually play it for any length of time, but it's been very buggy and crash prone.

The Force Unleashed 2. Rented it a few weeks ago and I was enjoying it despite its repetitive nature right up until the end. Then I had to sit through one of the worst final boss encounters ever which completely defied canon and seemed almost random, it ruined the game for me. Its up there with KOTOR 2 on the list of Star Wars games which could have been great but were shoved out the door before they were ready by Lucasarts. Its the gaming version of getting your kid ready for school with their uniform and nice schoolbag, then dumping them outside the door with no books, lunch money or breakfast.

I'm going to have to go against your rather rash unlettered empty threat. Considering I've only played two new games this year. Fight Night Champion and Dragon Age II, Dragon Age II takes the cake for "worst game" so far. "RPG of the decade" don't make me laugh, what are these reviewers on.

I haven't really played a lot of games the year (so far). So I guess the worst game I've played this year is... MS Minesweeper.

For whatever reason, machinima put that as one of the top 10 "puzzle games". Are they kidding, or just out of well-known puzzle games? Silly peoples.

Whew, sorry about that. I must have blacked out for a second, all I could see were these glaring red 7:s... then everything started exploding and the little smiley face kept telling me to kill you.

Man, I gotta cut down on the minesweeping. Maybe I should take up Free-Cell?

I don't know why people were expecting much from The Force Unleashed considering how shallow, short, and boring the first game was.

Sequels to bad games like Kane and Lynch and Force Unleashed tend to suck just as much if not more than their predecessors.

Only time I have ever played a sequel to a crappy game that ended up being good was Killzone 2.

Dragon Age 2 definitely, but that's only because it's the only game besides the far superior DA:O I've played this year. I haven't been playing many games this year.

I haven't played any bad games this year. Naming the worst would mean naming a very good game. I guess that would be the latest iteration of Civilization, but as I said, it's quite a good game, and I do enjoy it.

Hmm... CoD Black Ops, it just sucks for various reassons,

Dead Rising 2, I want a game where I can ****** around or take my time not turn and go OH **** TIME FOR KATIES ZOMBREX!

Infinite Undiscoverd, not a very good RPG imo.

Saints Row, just didn't like it at all, funny enough I LOVE the 2nd one.

Crackdown 2, hated it.

Bioshock, made me mad, that damn Andrew Ryan.

Sins of a Solar Empire, bores me.

And Assassins Creed, and a few other that I just couldn't stand playing for long.

Jar Jar is not real, in honesty though its the clonewars tv show that have turned me from starwars.

I wouldn't call it the worst game of the year, but it was a poor investment by me because I barely played it; DC Universe Online. The game seemed decent but after the first weekend I never really played it making it a big waste of $50.
