Gonna be perfectly honest.

This is the internet, it's pretty easy to dig up some random Bioware employees information, and then use that information to do stuff like that. Considering how easily the person that made that article was able to "trace" it back to the alleged suspect, I have no doubts that it would be just as easy to do the same thing to post overly positive reviews and make it look like Bioware. To be honest, this seems even more likely considering the storm surrounding this game.

They gutted the entire depth the original laid out and slapped this together after lying about more DLC's for DAO.

What would you expect?

Imho, I'd let time sort it all out. We won't reach any conclusion if we don't keep our heads chill.

Luckily for us, BioWare won't end up like another Westwood. Not as long as they retain their degree of freedom (however large or small it may be) anyway.

Tell me what "depth" has been gutted, aside from the conversation choices.

Seriously, I really want to know.

You know i don't think you could ever really prove that.
The board is flooded with people who made an account for the sole purpose of bashing the game.

And thats fine that's what the site is there for.

And yes perhaps that is a Bioware employee , but in the grand scheme of things , unless they write a web bot .
to make positive reviews on a regular basis , that one review will just be a gain of positivity , in a landslide of dissatisfaction.

It's over , the game launched , was played , and has been judged by those that matter as lackluster.
I really don't care if a memo circulated to tell every Bioware employee to write a good review.

Hell i even wen't as far in my sometimes paranoid mind to assume that Some Bioware guys are trying to get fired so they can get a farewell package on the way out the door.

I mean some interviews with dev's certainly come off as borderline offensive to the intelligence of the player community.
Which left me wondering ... are they trying to get fired ?

A lot of video games do this, especially RPGs.

ME1 had a huge problem with this.

Any game made by Bethesda had the problem of reused resources all over the place.

You are making it seem like this is the first time that reused models and resources has occurred.  It hasn't, people are just trying to find things to nitpick at.

The shorter game time and cutscenes on the other hand is a very good point, and I do actually agree with you.

The game plays like super mario with a sword.
Are ya English as a second language ?
I could understand your confusion with gutted if English was not your first language.

Don't take it literally , there are no intestines spilling out of the box.   Just credibility .

I'm kind of flabbergasted at the reactions to this. I'm pretty much just a lurker, but even I had to post upon seeing this garbage. The fact that there are people who think this is okay and would lie to try and defend it is pretty shocking to me.

It's like this entire week, these forums have slipped into Opposite World.

If a Bioware employee truly did post a review without explaining his/her affiliation, that is indeed unethical. But it makes a big difference whether it was known by the company or the actions of an individual. Of course it's incredibly easy to claim it was was the latter case no matter what really happened.

That said, I think there are bigger ethical issues here that aren't getting the same amount of attention. I bought Bioware points in EA's store. Got no confirmation email and was actually convinced it hadn't worked. Waited 4-5 hours and got nothing. So I bought them through the Bioware store WAY cheaper (presumably because they convert the USD price to your local currency). The next day I got a confirmation from EA.

There are two issues here:

1. The transaction was slow to process. Online transaction like these are supposed to be almost instantaneous. This was my fault really for being impatient (hey, I just got the game and wanted to play) but I still find it a bit strange.

2. The price difference. This is highly unethical on EA's part. Both purchases go through their store. They are blatantly ripping off people by just writing Euros instead of USD. There is no excuse for this. I don't just feel like I was ripped off. I KNOW I was ripped off. You can say it was my own fault for not checking both options first, but would you really expect there to be a huge price difference?

On the plus side, I have enough Bioware points for the next billion DLCs :)

Twitter and Facebook are blowing up over this. Not a good look Bioware.

Twitter and Facebook are constantly blowing up. Who cares.

Then may I suggest returning to said game and not read this one particular branch of the DA2 forum?

It's like someone who's lactose intolerant but spends his day at an ice cream parlor.

Er..why would a Bioware employee use an alias that is associated with a real life identity? Then why copy and paste the marketing description?

I have my doubts that he actually wrote that. It's too obvious and anyone that cares enough could have easily pull up aliases Bioware employees use and write fake reviews.

Next, who cares if he was a Bioware employee? That doesn't mean that he was directly involved in making the game.

And if there was a big incentive for Bioware employees to write good reviews, why are there so few? Doesn't Bioware have ~1000 employees?

Such a big deal being made over something nobody can prove, and even if proved true means very little

You mean it means very little to YOU.  The point of doing this is getting away with it, if every employee wrote likeminded reviews it would be so obvious the entire company would be implicated.  Having only one or two people being fall guys makes it much easier to call them "isolated incidents."

It means very little because there are only 164 good reviews, and there are ~1000 Bioware employees. Meaning there is NO incentive for their employees to write good reviews.

IF he actually wrote that, he did it because he liked the game. NEWSFLASH employees aren't a hivemind that automatically like everything their company sells. And not everyone in a company works on the same project.

He's still on their payroll and the review was deleted.  Why delete a completely honest and legit review?  What fear does he have of anything?  He can just stand there and say "I like the game, deal with it.  I have a right to voice my honest opinion."  Even then, you're an emplyoee and it doesnt matter what you think, it's still a huge conflict of interest to review your own games without full disclosure.  It's deceptive at least and completely dishonest at worst.  Bioware employees arent like you or me preciesly BECAUSE they're employees, they're held to a much different standard.

I didn't know about the deletion. You guys could be right and he deleted the review so his name would stop being tossed around the internet. I don't agree that it's definitely a conflict of interest for him to like DA2 though.  I worked for a company with tens of thousands of employees, and most of us in the departments I worked with knew that some of the products being sold weren't that great.  If he plays DA2 and enjoys it, he's no different from other users outside the company that do the same, especially if his job isn't related to the DA2.

Edit: If he worked in marketing or sales I'd understand, but he's an engineer or something?

yes, but at least in oblivion these re-used assets were arranged differently. it's similar to FFXI how they had 4-5 different mountain models and just turned them around and used them for an entire zone. you enter a dungeon from a new entrance and find that it's the exact same place you were 5 minutes ago with different lighting or enemies. very lazy.

For the fourth time, here we go again:

A user insulted Bioware/EA and got banned. When he tried to play his linked game, he couldnt play them because ban from forum = ban from games. Bioware has since said it was a ''bug''. So many people made accounts specifically to talk in the forums, me included.

Use the goddamn search function next time, I'm tired of explaining this in every threads. There was more than one threads explicitely for this.
