What is with the flood of posts by people who don't have any registered Bioware games?

Haven't you heard the news? You can lose you games if Big Brother does not like you.

Why is nobody reading the post on the previous page about Bioware tampering with their own Metacritic score?

Because it's a fake.

I certainly hope people are less dense than to believe that if you haven't gone through the process of registering your game, that you either pirated the game or have not played it yet.

Because it's a fake.

And I'm sure you have some evidence to support that claim. After all, you can google most everything in the image except for the deleted Metacritic account to prove the picture's validity. And you certainly don't think they'd keep the Metacritic account in question around if it was proven to be a bioware employee, do you?

I wasn't aware you had to have games registered to post.. Oh wait, you don't, it doesn't mean they haven't played or own the games, imagine that.

Except for the majority of pirates...

What if the Metacritic post was a setup by a disgruntled fan?

IIRC they did some PR and claimed that the lockout was simply an error and lasted so long because it happened over a weekend and nobody was at the office.

they claimed.

well I'm not a shill and I really enjoyed DA2.

I'd say DA:O is a 9/10 (always room for improvement). I'd put DA2 as a solid 8/10. Some things I didn't like, some I really did, overall it was Dragon Age and I enjoyed it.

I don't know why people insist on being SO vehemently negative.

you say that like people disliking an underwhelming game (given the hype that bioware paid for and the quality of the first game) are crazy or something.

I think people are mad because its an 8/10 made by Bioware and its a sequel to a good game

Look who else posted a review for DA2 guys.

It's gotta be legit even though theres zero evidence because it says his name right there!  Its not like he would be smart enough to not use his name/handle while making a review like this!

DA2 is a 6/10 and DA:O was a 8/10. nostalgia goggles got people all hot and bothered for the game.

Man. People are lacking for things to think about and preoccupy themselves with.

Seriously, who cares?

Video game companies LIVE by metacritic, funding and development almost solely base themselves around this...who cares? WE DO, the company is trying to play damage control by padding their scores so that they can save face, it's a rubbish tactic and should be punished.

They are abusing the same mechanic that the industry uses to judge a game's value, its essentially stealing.

This is why metacritic is terrible for the industry, a great idea for consumers, but now that publishers only care about high metacritic scores it's turned into a disaster.

Since these forums like to present The Witcher as the enemy of Dragon Age, I decided to conduct a little experiment.

First I did a search for "The Witcher credits" which led me to a nice list of potential rubes. I chose a name with a low amount of Polish characters (for my own sake) and a title that sounds important but is not something obvious like like CEO or Lead Design; preferably something techy so I know he's going to be online somewhere.

I ended up choosing Lead Gameplay Programmar Maciej Siniło, and then searched his name on Google. It turns out he has a personal website - joy! The goal here was to find something personal about him but also something not too specific as to appear obvious. This information has to be easily accessible as well, so that I can link to this "evidence" later after I make my fake Metacritic account. Most people choose usernames and passwords that have some meaning in their life, so I was pretty confident I could find something on his personal website.

From the resume I found there I was able to glean his alma matter (Nicholas Copernicus University in Poland) and his birth year (1978). Since it is very common to append one's birth year to a name of some meaning, Copernicus78 would be a nice username which idiots would connect with Mr. Sinilo without much protest or afterthought. Metacritic unfortunately requires a confirmation e-mail, otherwise I could have used the email found on his resume for extra validity.

Since I'm lazy I didn't really want to actually make this account and review, but it took much longer to actually write this post than it did to find out all of the above. I could have, if I really wanted to, post a scathing review for Dragon Age II, or an over-the-top praising of The Witcher (or The Witcher II) as Copernicus78. From there it wouldn't be difficult at all to make an account on various internet information hubs (say, an account with one post, admitting that this is my "first post" to preemptively dispel suspicion) and spread the word of how embarrassing this is for CD Projekt. If you don't think people who would actually do something like this exist on the internet, then you are sorrily mistaken.

That said, I think there's a 50/50 chance that it really was the BioWare employee and, if so, I really don't care. I don't care not only because it was a user review on a website designed to collect user reviews, but even more so because he was right - he being the employee or the impostor, whoever it was. The 0/10 reviews as well as every unthoughtful and hate-filled post on these forums are an overreaction of personal preference; to say otherwise is simply a misunderstanding of one's own emotions and stubbornness. The 10/10 reviews are the same, only in the opposite direction.
