What's sad is that as soon as this really started, they started slipping out screens of ME 2 DLCs to come. Bread and Circuses anyone?

Not just that but think about this.  Bioware was getting absolutely DEMOLISHED from alll of the different scandals on both Facebook and Twitter.

So they come out with a ME2 DLC screen and say if you want to see more screens fans have to spam post about ME2 on Facebook and Twitter.  Which conveniently dilutes the amount of hate going on on both to people who dont know what to look for.

Funny how that works out.

wow, 16 pages of nerds getting their panties in a bunch over a USER REVIEW on METACRITIC of all places. How the hell is some BioWare douche posting a 10/10 any different from some basement nerd creating multiple accounts to post 0/10?

LET US ALL DECIDE THE WORTH OF A GAME BASED ON THE ALL-MIGHTY USER REVIEWS OF SOME WEBSITE!

Goddamm some people need to chill the fsk out. I thought DA2 was kinda crap compared to DA:O or the Mass Effect games. But I just go ****** to some Jessica Alba pics like any normal person rather than fill the internets with some righteous DA2-burning crusade. Jeez.

If someone post a zero its to send a message. Its not based on anything but a disapoint in the product. Bioware has middle fingered the 'hardcore' gamer for a while now so people are ripping them. The solution for Bioware is to lay off the buzz word marketing and make better games. If they did that everyone would be happy.

Spamming message boards with 10s (if they really did it) is a propagandist technique that does not in any way have a posative end game.

So instead of coming out and adressing the issues like an adult they are using fanboys to sheild them, even Chralie Sheen isn't that dumb.

Agent Dark, let me ask you this, what if you found out it was your parents website you were getting all that Jessica Alba porn off of and they were making records of it?  You'd be pretty mad I'm guessing.

Same sort of deceitful crap.

Wow. Just...wow. I guess more hypermarketing is the answer, so lame. I'm really interested to see what the rest of this year brings with other high-profile RPGs coming out. been a long time fan of Bioware but DA2 makes me much more cautious about their next release.

What a shameless tactic by Bioware.

You have lost a customer.

Regret buying the game now.

Like his 10 score is going to matter amidst the bombardment of bogus, spammed 0 score reviews. This is a bit concerning yes, but the sheer amount of **** responses from DA2 naysayers borderlines on childish. I can't exactly fault this employee for wanting to do something while his company's game is being burned at the stake for nothing.

First let me say I do not hate DA2 like most of the players do...but I can see many of their points. I enjoyed the game for what it is, but stil...I can see Bioware making their games so watered down in future releases. Fact is, how can we, the players, who PAY for their games and keep them in business speak out against the direction they are taking? We are the customers, EA and Bioware wouldn't even be where they are if we didn't buy and play their games.  Period.  Businesses live and die by their customers, and if you cannt keep them content and coming back then eventually the company will go under. So finally fans are standing up and saying enough is enough. There are not many good quality developers for games anymore, especially on the PC, Bioware and Blizzard are few that were left...though they both are now are teetering on the brink of mediocrity.

It's really funny for sure.

However, all customers they lose with DA2 they will gain millions more with Star Wars: The Old Republic.

And with that massive revenue, they can make all sorts of games to cater to everyone.

Ah who am I kidding, Blizzard got rich with WoW, and downsized everything that wasn't WoW related. Bioware will probably do the same thing.

I really doubt Bioware prompted him to post the review. It is most likely he simply chose to do it of his own accord. And even more likely is that the suits facepalmed once they found out what he did :P

I've been critical of Bioware's latest release, current actions, and stance towards DLC. But I really, really doubt this was Bioware's work, it was simply a poor choice from an employee when he saw the game getting trashed in user reviews.

I do applaud them for trying something different with an RPG though, and for being willing to implement both straight and gay relationships in a major release. I just think they should have stuck to the DA:O formula for the Dragon Age series, and let Mass Effect keep to its formula instead of trying to hybridize the two.

It does look a bit naive on the employees part, yes he shouldn't have done it as it is a very grey area, you don't polish up your own game without a disclaimer.

Just like all these competitions that manufactures run, employees of Joe Blogs and their family's can't enter. For good reason.

I really do think its Time for Bioware to grow some stones and man up.

Post an update as a sticky on the forums. Yes we have heard your call, both good and bad. We will take this all away and sit down as a team and identify what worked, what didn't and hopefully learn from it all.

They should also issue an appology if it is one of their own and state the case is being dealt with.

Does he deserve the Sack, no not really, a bit of a ticking off maybe should suffice.

Let the community know, both sides of it, that they understand the frustrations of those that hate the game and those that like it and will go away and review whats next in the DA world.

Their lack of response to many threads apart from locking/deleting says far more about them than if they had bothered to take the feedback on board and post up a quick we heard, were dealing. We'll get back to you once we have had the post launch sit down discussion.

Sitting in the dark and pretending a crap storm is happening is doing them no favours.

Huge,  huge,  assumption.  First,  WoW is an abberation,  more about people's love of Blizzard than anything else.  No other MMO to date has even hit 1 million subscribers in the NA market.  Only two or maybe three cracked 500,000.  An easy half of them literally went under,  or are barely running,  including Star Wars.

SWGs bombed hugely,  for a reason.  Everyone wants to be a Jedi,  and MMOs aren't very fun when everyone's playing the same character.

Further,  an MMO requires extremely strong Open World skills,  skills Bioware has never developed.

It's very likely that Star Wars will flop,  especially given EABioware's new approach of making everything twitchy-simple.  I really don't see what I'd expect from a company that could deliver a strong MMO here.  Most especially given the massive shift in direction since the EA deal.

don't count out Bethesda. They may have switched their lead platform to the 360 but I believe this is because they know the modding community will fix whatever doesn't look right on the PC. Skyrim is going to be THE rpg for this generation of gaming.

Oh dear, looks like Bioware have shot themselves in the foot thus loosing credibility and popularity with DA2 very fast...

I wonder if ME3 will follow a similar fate.

Be that as it may, it's an even worse sign for the company. An employee going desperate means that they've really had no slightest idea where they were heading with this product.

There is no "Mass Effect formula". Maybe there was, but it's long since got trashed by the "fluent gameplay" formula. Really the roots of this crysis go back to the transition from ME1 to ME2, when things got thrown out (the Mako, gun mods, squad armor) and replaced by "bigger guns" and nonsensical "outfits", while the atmospheric design style was replaced by some flashy pixel fiesta. The approach to characters also shifted towards "pokemon with daddy issues" recipe, although that was done fairly well for what it was, and secured half the hype for ME2. So, between the talimancers and the "professional" brown nosers, who make their living of praising videogames, BioWare thought that the "formula" had to be universal and applied it to the DA franchise.

First, I highly doubt Bioware is behind this. Its just an employee who probably honestly believes this game deserves a 10, supporting the product he worked on (or his colleagues worked on).

Second, ME2 > ME1 big time. The Mako sucked hugely. The inventory management was terrible. ME1's story may have been a tad better, but ME2 is the middle chapter and was still great.

Third, DA2 is a good game. It is better in some ways and worse in others than DA:O. All they need to do is release the toolset so modders can make the tweaks various subsets of the community want, and everyone can have a blast with this until DA3.
