It's really funny for sure.
However, all customers they lose with DA2 they will gain millions more with Star Wars: The Old Republic.
And with that massive revenue, they can make all sorts of games to cater to everyone.
Ah who am I kidding, Blizzard got rich with WoW, and downsized everything that wasn't WoW related. Bioware will probably do the same thing.
Huge, huge, assumption. First, WoW is an abberation, more about people's love of Blizzard than anything else. No other MMO to date has even hit 1 million subscribers in the NA market. Only two or maybe three cracked 500,000. An easy half of them literally went under, or are barely running, including Star Wars.
SWGs bombed hugely, for a reason. Everyone wants to be a Jedi, and MMOs aren't very fun when everyone's playing the same character.
Further, an MMO requires extremely strong Open World skills, skills Bioware has never developed.
It's very likely that Star Wars will flop, especially given EABioware's new approach of making everything twitchy-simple. I really don't see what I'd expect from a company that could deliver a strong MMO here. Most especially given the massive shift in direction since the EA deal.
