Lets be honest though...

If we worked at Bioware that's EXACTLY what any of us would have done

Don't lie to yourself

Funny, the review's gone now. Subtle, BioWare!

gotta love the biodrones trying to defend this

No moreso than the antimios pointing at it and dancing with glee.  There are actually a lot more sensible moderate people out there than is apparent, just the ones on the polar sides seem to yell, shout and say look at me! more often.

...So what?
I'm sure this happens all the time.

It's not like it's some consipiracy.
People want people to play their games.

Don't think you understand.

Objectivity and shadiness aside, there is not enough evidence that this particular person was working on Bioware's agenda when making this review. While it may be shocking that (or if) this person does indeed work for the company, I find it even more disturbing that his name is so explicitly disclosed by people who are so evidently critical of the game. If indeed he works for Bioware, I suppose there is now a chance that his own employment at the company is on the line. I'd hate to bash someone's life in because of mere numbers that reviews a simple video game.

Just saying. Not in defense of this, but in defense of an individual who will, or is, being put to the torch for something so silly.

Well, it could be easily the other way around.

That said, that would be like the first metacritic review from a person that actually played the game...

If you're that concerned about metacritic, make a better game next time around.

I thought it was a professional review.

It turns out it was a user review. Seriously?

It disapeared in the last 15 minutes then. Confirming this.

I really don't give a damn about Metacritic scores so I completely disregard this.

While this is far from a great tragedy, it does show a lack of professionalism from whoever wrote the review.

Congrats op...your sharing news that EVERYONE in this world knows about. Companies do it all the damn time. BW wasnt the 1st and it wont be the last.

Mythic did it with Warhammer
Call of Duty devs have done it
THQ did it with CoH

its an old tactic to boost scores.

It would have looked better if he hadn't posted it so close to release and been the first good review on display at metacritic.

Lots of corporations do lots of dirty things, but you can't let them get away with it, "just because 'everyone else' is".

By the way lots of trolls are using the "everyone else is defence"

Everyone doing a stupid thing doesn't make it any less stupid. Or in this case, shady and immoral.

Is the point that doing a background check on someone over a game review score that you don't agree with is really, really creepy?

Because that's what I'm taking away from this thread.
