I would give a review yes.But I would never give DA2 10/10 it's just not 10/10 material.

Maybe he feels the game is 10/10?
Then again the game is not 0/10 material either and look at metacritic reader reviews.

I agree it's not 0/10.I think people who gave it 0/10 are irrational. My personal opinion is....considering that very little decisions in game actually have value and the lack of RP in RPG again in my opinion...5/10.And that is how much I gave it.If they called this game action adventure game I would give it 7-8/10.

"fans" are going to bash them for no reason?

Well personally I think DA2 was an average cash in. Nothing special but wasted me 30 hours so thats good enough. However I think the staff have taken a major blow to the head of some sort. Every negative feedback produced from "fans" have been discarded as either "Spam" or "Trolling" by one of the developers, none of them acting professional or mature which is what one would expect coming from a major company.

Granted a handful of people are over-reacting but with good reason. If the game is as good a reviewers and adverts say then you'lld expect it to be an epic blockbuster but instead get a fairly average game. Maybe its because I enjoyed the tatical combat of Dragon Age Orgins more but Dragon Age 2 was a dissapointment to myself and I'm even more dissapointed in the Moderators.

Sorry to break in like this but have you noticed Bioware is a bit....quiet? Usually a couple of days after a release, it's hugs and rainbows....

You would rate Dragon Age 2 the RPG 5/10 and Dragon Age 2 the action adventure a 7-8/10?
How would you rate Dragon Age 2 the video game? Because at the end of the day, thats what you get...

he should be free to write a positve review of the game he worked on if he really likes it. It's hard to assume that bioware simply ordered their employees to make one or more positive reviews ( i assume that there's a possibility of more employee reviews ). Bioware or EA could easily hire a larger group of people writing positive user reviews I assume; so perhaps the employees who reviewed the game did so out of a free heart.

Even if you blame that guy, or guys who did it, I don't think you should jump to conclusions and blame 'Bioware the corporation'. The reviews could have been done on a personal level.

I can't believe you actually think that's not a fake.

1. Find a random Bioware / EA employee on LinkedIn
2. Now use google to find his/her profiles on social networks
3. Post 10/10 review on metacritics using his/her nick
4. Wait for some ****** internet detective
5. ???
6. Profit

Or the chap in question just wrote a review to help his game's score.

Eh, the problem is that when gamers catch companies writing thier own reviews of thier own games in secret, it opens a whole can of the swirling abyss of distrust.  The idea, in principal, is that a review does not have a motive to lie about how they feel about a product.  However, when you find out that the company is trying to load the dice, now that accusation last night that Bioware was trying to get people on the Russian Bioware fan site to go to Metacritic and vote looks a lot more belivable.

It's a case of losing credibility.

Reviews that give the game 10/10 should be looked at extremely cautiously. Those that give it a 0/10 should be strait up ignored. The fact is someone can see DA2 as being a masterpiece, but I don't believe anyone with any sense or desire to pass far judgment would rate this game a 0/10 or even a 2/10.

Personally I only trust the reviews that give this game somewhere in-between 4/10 to 9/10. Any higher or lower than that is too extreme and hints at a very bias opinion.

I gave this game a 3/10, mostly because I have 0 desire to play again, I've tried 4 times now to get through act 1 with a second play through and every time I pick it up I'm already bored after 30 minutes of play, nothing about it is compelling and the overall feel of the game is just bad, thus warranting a low score from me.  ME, ME2, DA:O, all made me want to keep playing even after a few playthroughs.

Well see... I would almost certainly not trust your review. Not because of the 3/10, but because you didn't get far. MANY fantastic RPG's I've played have had terrible starts. I have multiple friends who never got past BG2's first dungeon and personally I almost stopped playing The Witcher because the first few hours SUCKED (truthfully I didn't really get sucked into it until 10+ hours into the game!), both are now in my top 10 favorite games list.

Seems very immoral and possibly illegal if true. There is a definate chance that this could be faked.

could have been done by the same dude or people who made that post on reddit. either way I don't see a big deal in employees writing reviews for their own game. it's not the same as the author of a book writing a positive review about his work because Bioware worked on the game as a collective; they could never have made the game alone.

No no you misunderstood....to me personally DA2 has very little choice.Bunch of things in it happen no mater what you do.I would understand if those things are important main plot points so they can't be avoided but many MANY of them are not.You know like..your mothers situation. It has to happen. But it really isnt that important to the story. It could have easily have multiple endings when it comes to that situation. But it doesnt.

Just an example.

Oh and to answer the question I rated DA2 the video game 5/10.Like I said I don't think of it as much of a RPG.If they said it was an adventure game then I would give it a 7.

reacting to such an amount of negativity on a personal level is understandable if you've worked on the prouct that gets that reaction. i know that things like these can be easily seen in a bad light but that doesn't always mean that they are.

I'm not really positive that it was a Bioware employee doing the review anyway. Like I said, even if you think what he or they are doing is bad, you shouldn't necessarily think about Bioware the corporation doing this, but each employee out of his own will.

No reason to accuse Bioware if one employee wrote a positive review about the game he's worked on. Maybe it's just this one review that was written by a Bioware employee; we don't know.

Actually,  IIRC,  not only is he not free,  I think he's legally required to disclose his position.  There's a number of laws regarding shilling,  especially when the company in question is public,  and I think he technically violated them by not disclosing his position.

Technically,  I think he could suffer heavy fines,  as could EA.

Why worry about customer reviews when the official reviews are obviously paid off?People pay more attention to those.

Also I wonder what would happen if the said person wrote a bad review. You you say OMG HOW CAN HE WRITE BAD STUFF ABOUT HIS COMPANY or would you all be like HA HA EVEN BIOWARE PEOPLE THINK THE GAME SUCKS.

Not that I am on BioWare-s side...just saying.

At least Kinect Sports sold well.
Sure, it got lot of hate from Rare "fans", but Rare-ish games like Viva Pinata, Kameo or Banjo were hated almost equally and the sales were poor.

Adults and savy intenet users don't behave like that.  All of this internet drama is very tiring to those of us over a certain age.

Do you seriously not see how absurdly ironic this is? "Anyone that doesn't give this game a score above just below average is very biased".

I haven't played DA2, but I have absolutely no will do to so either, despite playing Origins right now and finding it decent to good, with occasional extremely subpar parts. I can't pass final judgement on DA2 as I haven't played it, but to say that anyone who gives it a score below 4 should be ignored is nothing but pure stupidity.

And it's equally stupid to pretend that any raid, ignoring whether it actually happened or not, should be ignored. If it did happen, it's a safe assumption that few of the raiders did it because they're dumb little kids who think it's the cool thing to do. The possible raiders would have done it because they saw major problems with the game. If a large group hates it because they see it as a sequel that completely ruined the roleplaying, screwed up the designs, removed gameplay elements, retconned the universe and was made with the mentality of "press button to make something awesome happen" (or whatever the quote is, I'm not entirely sure), then they should be effing listened to. Not ignored. You can't just ****ing dismiss everyone that doesn't like it as a troll.

And everyone saying "it's just one thing, it doesn't matter" is extremely ignorant and missing the point. A lot of people are quite clearly very disappointed with the game. You see more and more negative news about it every day, from DRM to the way Bioware handles any dissiding opinions on their forums, to the music composer supposedly saying that it was rushed, and yet you see reviewers giving it amazing scores. People are seriously wondering if those scores were bought, and they are angry because Bioware is completely ignoring what they have to say about the game, not to mention vilifying them. People are getting pissed because they see Bioware as huge, lying, pricks in this, and Bioware does absolutely nothing to help the situation. Instead they ban people because they have strong negative opinions of the game, while even stronger positive opinions are welcomed.

Just look at this:

Do you see this? He's calling anything he doesn't like "propaganda". He's saying that proof and facts should be ignored. He's religiously devoted to Bioware, for ****'s sake! And no one bats a damn eye, instead making snide remarks at the one who apparently found that Bioware is rating their own game perfectly white telling people to ignore the people rating it badly.

People are angry at Bioware, and in many cases completely justified in it, and every new thing we hear about them or DA2 is just another drop in the glass, or another straw on the camel's back.

He is not writing for a publication and I have my doubts that he got paid to do it. Either way, there are more effective ways to endorse your product deceitfully, I think, than to write a metacritic user review about your game.
