I wouldn't call it sugar coated, I just try to phrase in such a way that I never have to type or utter the word 'turd'.

No, because they're not accepted. What you're arguing would make anything that happens a lot completely ok, when it isnt. Using ilterality is a mistake in and of itself because it is completely insufficient when dealing with language. It's why fiigurative forms of speech are essential. I dont see why you're playing devil's advocate, you're essentially saying it's ok for bioware to engeage in conflicts of interest without trying to get caught. It only makes them look bad.
Well accepted by who? Because if this a common occurance, they're obviously accepted by Developers, right?
And honestly, i'm just playing Devils Advocate cause I'm eating lunch and a little bored. I do think it's a morally grey area, and the entire system is broken, but I have already made my thoughts on this clear.
Dude. Calm Thyself. It's just one user review by a person who works for the same company. This isn't a "Bioware" anything. You're actually saying it should be illegal for an employee of a company to rate something their company makes online? You're actually going to promote that as law?Korban wrote...

So unethical. This should be illegal.
BioWare did so much crap with this game. Their credibility is next to none just because of DA2.
How about going back to what BioWare does and make great games instead of focusing on making an "ok" game with all these crappy marketing.

Being accepted means you could talk about it in public where a majroity of people would agree with you, rigging reviews and writing false user reviews would mostly likely not be ok if you talked to developers and fans about it. It's about public opinion, developers dont "accept" it as much as they simply want to do it without getting caught because they can and have the ability to.

Well, accepted in the sense that we as a country accept that most politicians are sexual deviants behind closed doors. Same idea, less pleather and chains.

well, you know, at the very least saying, "yeah, so, we tried some new things, they didn't work and we're gonna use this to get better." would be nice. THEN i'd support them 100%. better to have tried and failed than to never have tried at all.BiggusDikkus wrote...
Not only that, but on Bioware's russian community website they were telling people to vote 10 on metacritic.
The way that Bioware is handling this whole affair is really bad, they won't stop blaming others for their mistakes and ignore all criticisms of the game as "trolls".
Oh, and for all those saying that this was the only Bioware employee to rate his own game we have actually found much more people.

I can't believe you actually think that's not a fake.
1. Find a random Bioware / EA employee on LinkedIn
2. Now use google to find his/her profiles on social networks
3. Post 10/10 review on metacritics using his/her nick
4. Wait for some ****** internet detective
5. ???
6. Profit

Reviews that give the game 10/10 should be looked at extremely cautiously. Those that give it a 0/10 should be strait up ignored. The fact is someone can see DA2 as being a masterpiece, but I don't believe anyone with any sense or desire to pass far judgment would rate this game a 0/10 or even a 2/10.
Personally I only trust the reviews that give this game somewhere in-between 4/10 to 9/10. Any higher or lower than that is too extreme and hints at a very bias opinion.
I gave this game a 3/10, mostly because I have 0 desire to play again, I've tried 4 times now to get through act 1 with a second play through and every time I pick it up I'm already bored after 30 minutes of play, nothing about it is compelling and the overall feel of the game is just bad, thus warranting a low score from me. ME, ME2, DA:O, all made me want to keep playing even after a few playthroughs.
Well see... I would almost certainly not trust your review. Not because of the 3/10, but because you didn't get far. MANY fantastic RPG's I've played have had terrible starts. I have multiple friends who never got past BG2's first dungeon and personally I almost stopped playing The Witcher because the first few hours SUCKED (truthfully I didn't really get sucked into it until 10+ hours into the game!), both are now in my top 10 favorite games list.

Common sense would say it's generally accepted, given that if a person has genitals, they are most likely a sexual deviant. It's just kinda the nature of genitals.
And I was just using the whole "pleather and chains" thing to create an allusion to S&M, but unless it's missionary for the sake of children it's 'Deviant."
But thats getting a bit off topic, and I apologize for that.
WRPG is huge genre and DA2 is obiously part of it, just because its not the kind of WRPG you like, does not make it different genre.Obro wrote...
If I bough WRPG game and I got a game that to me doesn't feel like WRPG ...shoud I rate it good? I mean I bough it because I thought I will be playing WRPG.And it turns out that it's just an adventure game or JRPG.
What's the difference between this and say...FF7 that allowed you to change Clouds second name?

Hey guys, for those who don't know there's a site called 4chan, and they occasionally do "raids". I found this thread on the boards, and it looks like the whole thing was staged to make the score go down.
