This mysterious empire has been mentioned in both games. In DAO they were offering to aid us against the Blight, turns out as is mentioned by King Alistar, if you had him take the throne, was apparently exactly what Loghain thought it was... a chance for the Orlesians to gain control of Ferelden again. My question is does any think that maybe, possibly we will ever get to openly meet or confront the bold orlesians??? i mean come on!
Orlesian Empire.....

HAHA, they might take over Ferelden with the latest in fashion and parties instead...

i doubt that. i mean in both games they make the orlesians out to be an evil empire of sorts and at the start of act 3 in DA 2 Bodhain mentions that Sandal has been offered a position in the royal court there... im thinking that it may be possible that the orlesians know a **** load more about the events that are occuring in both the free marches and ferelden than anyone really knows and are preparing for, either out of fear or just greed, for a massive battle that apparently takes place in all of thedas after the situation in kirkwall and in ferelden with the hero. but thats just my thought.

In my opinion, judging from the ending of DA2, I think most, if not all, of Thedas will be drawn into a huge war between the Chantry and the Circles of Magi (similar to ME3 between the races of the galaxy and the Reapers), from there, other tensions will rise, and countries will go to war with each other. I could easily see Orlais and Ferelden going to war once again.
If this is something like what BioWare has planned for DA3, I simply cannot wait for the next installment, either actual game or DLC

DA3 will be set in Orlais. How do I know this? Because Sandal is going to Orlais and DA3 without Sandal isn't DA its just 3...

Mymph you have a point there. and have you heard Sandal say his prophecy? i don't believe they are going to orlais because of Sandal's enchantments. i think it has something to do with how Bodahn reacts to Sandals letting the prophecy slip out. Bodahn is hiding something, not sure good or bad, about Sandal and i think orlais is going to try and use him in some form or fashion.
