So, who are going to blame when ME3 are on the shelves?
The PC users? The console users? Those who don't have enough of the necesary refined and complicated taste to realy enjoy a RPG action game like you do? EA? BioWare? Forum trolls? Old players? New players? Fans of some character you don't like?

Ah, the troubles of 21st century. A hundred years ago you could have blamed the jews and be done with it.
Nowadays that makes you a racist.

I really fear that ME3 will suck... An epic finale develloped for 3 different systems in less then 2 year...

And after all, you really have high expectation on ME3 after ME2 ?
It will be the same super linear corridor shooter with dialogue (minus planet scanning plus space fight & maybe multiplayer....)...

I agree. ME2 started us down a path which I believe will be continued on in ME3.

The PROBLEM that I have with ME2 is that Bioware decided to completely take OUT some of the decent/good features of ME1. Why? Probably because EA had a hand in developing ME2:

On 2 March 2009, BioWare and Electronic Arts announced a new development team for Mass Effect 2, set to work at the EA Montreal studio.[/i]The new team's main task was to supplement the teams already working on Mass Effect 2, with around half of the team having worked on the original Mass Effect alongside other new hires.BioWare co-founder and CEO Ray Muzyka said the team was "really excited
about it, and we think it's going to be a huge opportunity to tap into
the talent base in Montreal while supplementing our existing teams in
Edmonton and Austin, which are doing some great stuff on all the other
projects BioWare's working on."

So why would it be a shock knowing that EA probably will have their people working on ME3? To even MORE of an extent?!

Usually companies (and even Bioware in the past) improved features on games - not completely remove them. I know it seems like a novel concept but it's how you make things better. However ever since EA came into the picture: DLC CONTENT! Faster Gameplay! features removed, more streamlined (less dev time usually means more money for EA) blah blah blah.

it happened a bit in ME 2 (EA came aboard half-way through the development cycle).
It happened to a HUGE extent in DA 2 with re-used level designs out the butt, horrible combat (DW combat anyone?) etc etc etc . . .

Just to give you a few examples of things that could have made ME2 GREAT:

For starters:
Inventory: was it a bit clunky? Sure. Did it need refinement? Absolutely. Did it SUCK so much that they had to REMOVE IT? No. Had they improved on the inventory system, ME2 would have been an even better game. But of course, why do that when you could take the easier route xD.

Landing on various Planets: They EASILY could have made this so much better. They could've added various elements and added a-TON of differences to make it more exicting to the gameplay. I loved being able to do it, despite the reused level designs/huge maps.  I mean, I still remember landing on the planet with those damn monkey's! Evil bastards! lol. Not otmention all the of side-stories attached to the side-quests.  Instead of adding into that feature they said 'eh . . lets make it easy for US AND for the gamer! Huraay!!!!!'

Instead Bioware (I mean EA) did this:

-introducing a new feature to scan planets for minerals where you spend EVEN MORE TIME (did we did in the first game when landing on planets) mining for pointless minerals and guess what?! You need it to upgrade things so you have to mine for 10-12 hours! isn't that fun?! (And it's EVEN better because there is ALOT LESS DEV TIME INVOVLED *wink)

I could list more but I won't. The point is - ME2 is a classic console port and while it was a good game - it hardly beats ME1 in terms of what you could do. Hands down.

The question really is - will they continue on the path of ME2 (where instead of improving things that fans liked but maybe felt the features could have been better, they get rid of them) with streamlining things and massive DLC content or will they go back to doing things like in ME1?

Chances are ME3 will be another console port because that's where the big bucks are. I wouldn't be suprised to see ME3 a very linear, corridor driven game where the combat is so quick and tactless that console gamers will 'eat it up'. Not much we can do about it either seeing how console games usually make crater-sized- more money then PC-games.

Oh and DLC content WILL be a huge part of the game. There's nothing we can do about that.

Last but MOST IMPORTANTLY:

Deal with it people - BIoware is APART of EA - whether we like it or not

It will be carbon copy of ME2 gameplay imho but instead of doing barely connected teammate loyalty missions you will be doing barely connected recruitmentment mission to get rescue fleet ready to retake Earth.
I'm putting my bet on a big alliance of Geth+Migrant fleet+Rahni+Krogans being majority of it.
And of course for major epicness they will arrive just a moment before reapers planet destroyer shoots earth ;)

And yeah I hope I'm wrong in this prediction.

I doubt it will suck, the first two have been tremendous games with incredible story, and keep in mind that right from the start bioware said this would be a trilogy, that means they always had a plan and story in place to make this into a trilogy. It's not like they were surprised by me1's success and thought let's milk this cow with some sequels. They have always planned a trilogy, and I believe they are more than capable on delivering an amazing conclusion to this incredible sci fi epic.

That's true. But the second half of this truth is that ME3 is at the same time a stand alone game.

There are to kinds of people in this world: the ones who find more fun in more complex things, rather than in less complex things, and all the rest... um... the rest, who.. er... the ones who find more fun in less complex things, rather than in more complex things.

So EA wants to make games for the latter category. That's their business. And that's the direction thay have taken the both BioWare's standing franchises to. So it does kinda suck for us (the former category), especially since we got hooked up when that direction wasn't yet taken. And there is absoluteley no reason to expect that this direction will be reversed any time soon. Not even the DA2 sh*tstorm can change that. Like somebody posted on the DA2 forum:

If it sells well - great! Dumbing down pays off! Dumb it down even more.
If it doesn't sell well - oops! Not dumbed down enough! Dumb it down even more.

So yeah, ME3 will probably deserve a subtitle like "Super Mario Shepard: Big Guns".

Only I really can't see how this is going to appeal to the "CoD crowd".

I hope they focus more on the plot this time around. ME2 was great but the human reaper larva just didn't do it for me.
