Re-posting this in the spoilers section, people have already played the game since General Discussion didn't get much reply

http://www.g4tv.com/...-Age-II/review/

In the review, there are several videos about DA2. However I am interested in the second video down.

"Dragon Age 2, the making of the tralier" at about 4 minutes and 36 seconds exactly into the game a guy with glasses says from the bioware team, says

"It
would have been very easy to sit on our lorels and do what was already
successfull and not try anything new. Thing that bioware does is great
is interested in is evolution"

Perhaps I am over thinking
this, people often compare this game to orgins. Are they saying they
could have just did what they did in orgins in DA2, in what it made
successfull, but they decided to try something new.

In your
unbiased thought, and constructive should have they re-done what made it
so successful or should they have kept to trying the new thing?

I
admit I love the new graphics, I'm not sure about the interaction
though and story depth. If the visuals were not changed, would the story
have been still have been limited?

I'm mixed about this. They say it would have been lazy to remake DA:O. But considering DA:O is considerably longer I would say DA2 feels like the lazy one. But they did change alot of things. and I loved most of them except the repeating mineshafts/sewers.

I just wish it was longer.

DA1 was longer because it took longer to do things. Along with having a lot of "padding" side-quests.

hmm, good point, but I still feel like I left the game unfinished. It might just be the cliffhanger ending. I felt like I didn't accomplish what I set out to do. In truth I feel like I didn't really set out to do anything. I just reacted to events unfol, ding around me with no goal.

Anyone bother to think DA2 might be a testing ground of new idea's and then in DA:3 they'll throw in things from DA:O and DA:2? Least thats what I'm thinking as it seems to be the case with mummerings over ME:3.
