I you wanna make a Sebastian a rial, bring him a long on any quest that deals with killing or rituals ( Varric/Merril) I'm trying to romance him, but I gained like 15 rivalary points with him because of them XD

Also, picking 'angelic' options when talking to him, increases friendship.

I didn't see this one in the OP.

Siding with the mercenaries when you get to Kirkwall to try and buy your way into the city will cause Aveline to +5 rivalry with you.

Also on "Wayward Son" if you send him to the Circle, you will get +15 rivalry with Anders. And another +5 rivalry when you turn it in. I didn't see it mentioned in the thread yet =D

+5 = tell the sloth demon you will accept it's offer
-5 = Reject it's offer (exception - if you reject it only when Anders forces the choice if he is in the party)

I believe the "We checked" only is availible if you bring Anders with you for the quest and ask him to check after the fight is over...

I didn't notice this one on the list, and I just discovered it. I was trying to get a rivalmance started for Fenris, but I didn't want to do "Bitter Pill" without him being at/close to 50% rivalry. So, after the CS where "Bitter Pill" starts, and I tell him we'll go right away, I didn't go right away so I could build up his rivalry on other quests.

As a result, we get a random encounter traveling (I think just through the city maps) where more Tevinter slavers attack us, and he gets really angry saying we have to go get Hadriana now or else...so I say we'll go right away, and a door appears to take us right to that cave, and I got +20 rivalry:)

The unbidden rescue: If you call the viscount  and his son hard headed or just say it isnt your business aveline gets a +5 in friendship if you agree with the viscount or his son you get a +5 in rivalry with aveline

The first sacrafice: When talking to ninettes husband say you wont help him look for his wife you get a +5 with isabella in friendship. You get a +5 rivalry with aveline if you sleep with the elf in the blooming rose that your suppose to talk to for this quest. In the quest loose ends aveline gets +5 rivalry if you agree to take  the smugglers job.

Loose Ends: +5 from Isabela if you lie to Athenril about the goods. Only if you let the boy take the goods to start a new life.

Shepherding Wolves: +15 rivalry with Anders if you tell the sister you don't want to accept the quest. Use the X option, you are forced to take the quest anyways.
Shepherding Wolves: +10 rivalry with Anders if you tell the Avaraad(sp) to take the mage. It's the green checkmark option.

Act of Mercy: +5 rivalry with Anders and +10 rivalry with Merril if you tell Thrask to 'Do it himself' The X option.
Act of Mercy: +5 rivalry with Anders if you tell Alain to surrender and go back to the circle. The red fist option.
Act of Mercy: Multiples when talking with Grace after defeating Decimus. Choosing the 'He was a blood mage', 'The crimes are also yours', and the 'I won't help you' options wil net you +25 rivalry with Merril, +10 rivalry with Anders and +10 Friendship with Fenris.
Act of Mercy: More multiples with coming out to talk with the templars. Choosing the 'Here are your blood mages', 'The mages are yours', and the 'You must go with him' options will net you +10 rivalry with Merril, +5 rivalry with Anders and +10 friendship with Fenris.

+15 Rivalry for Sebastian if you take him with you to the Alienage and speak to Arianni for the Fenryiel quest in Act 2. Say you will enter the Fade, end the dialogue by offering to come back when Merethari arrives.
Remove Sebastian from the party before you go back to Arianni and continue the questline (otherwise you'll gain 15 friendship when you remove him in the forced selection screen later).

No matter what choice I pick it appears that giving the dalish ring to Merrill (act 3) results in rivalry and Im trying to obtain her friendship without taking any demon offers or supporting blood magic. She's stuck in the middle of the meter currently..

I tried  doing this but all I get is a 10+ rivalry with sebastion not a 15 -.-

Sometimes this game can be annoying. Like with Merrill. Welcome Home quest for example.
First Dialogue doesn't matter
Second dialogue choice determines what is good or bad in third dialogue choice.

For Example.

Sandal: I like pie.
Hawke: *something not important*
Sandal: Do you like pie?
Hawke: Yes
Sandal: Pie is good
Hawke must choose....Want some pie Sandal or Get back to enchanting.
Hawke: Want some pie?
Sandal: Yippee

Sandal: I like pie.
Hawke: *something not important*
Sandal: Do you like pie?
Hawke: No
Sandal: Pie is good
Hawke must choose....Want some pie Sandal or Get back to enchanting.

in Fenrises personal quest in the second act, you can get 15 aproval for both being nice and hiring the slave girl for money. If you're a jerk to her and then hire her, you only get +5

Offered and Lost: +10 friendship for Sabastian for picking "Varnell and the others die" It seems to be bugged at times. Also another +10 friendship if you tell the viscount not to hide the bodies.

Bait and Switch: If you have a mage in the party once you leave Denarius' mansion there is a convo, choose the flirt option ("That would be a shame") for +5 rivalry. Not sure what the outcome is if you are playing as a Mage.

Once The Gallows is open (I believe after you receive Enemies Among Us) go there with Fenris in your party. There will be a convo about the Imperium. Select pro mage options for +5 Rivalry and anti mage for +5 Friendship.

It's really easy to make Merril a rival. I discovered all of this by accident in my first playthrough.

In Act 2 just bring her along when you are looking for the Evil Tomes and every time you destroy one you'll get +10 rivalry with her... and there are six books.

Another way to rack up rivalry with her is to bring her with when you go on the Nightmare quest to the fade. If you bring her but also bring Anders she gets +5 or +10 rivalry (can't remember which) and then later on if you reject the Pride Demon's offer and she accepts it there will be another +20 rivalry.

I had her at max rivalry before I did her Act 2 Personal Quest.

What a great thread! My first game I didn't have a good enough friendship with Isabella for her to stay. Hopefully with these tips I can finally get her to stick around!
