Hello guys...

I created this topic at first with a personal challenge, and I posted here because I'd like to share this challenge with the people who play Mass Effect 2. If you watched any of the videos took something that would help improve or make some parts of the game easier! Glad that this topic was beyond its primary purpose, which as I mentioned there on top was created more as a personal challenge.

And please leave comments! Good or Bad... Thanks for Watching! ;D

HOW TO PLAY SOLO

A) mod coalesced.ini or B) use Gibbed's savegame editor.

A) If you're not familiar with how to go about editing it, go to Modding is Possible or Modding is Possible II.

1. Find the [SFXGame.BioSFHandler_PartySelection] section, and under that, the line "InSquad[insert-squad-mate]".
2. Replace that line for two available squad mates with a dummy entry (for example, InSquadGarrus could be replaced by NotInSquadGarrus). When you select two edited squaddies in the game for a mission, they won't show up. If you want to use those squadmates (e.g. for their loyalty missions), you'll have to go back and edit the InSquad-line for that squad mate.

B) Open a savegame in the editor, then uncheck the In Squad flags for the squadmates you have with you in the savegame. You'll have to do the same at the beginning of every mission in order to stay solo.

Enjoy! :P

That's a tactical Vanguard you have there SidJr, some really clever moves to stop spampoints! And Dominate is awesome on Mordin's RM.

My Vanguard is more dumb-ass - (s)he likes to kill as many enemies possible and doesn't like being bothered with tactics and stuff. Just Charge in and crush some skull. :)

Good vid.

You can also use gibbed's save editor to remove squadmates at the start of every mission.

Solo or not, to me, Vanguard plays the same. The only thing squad provides is extra variety by enabling combos (e.g. strip defense - Slam - Warp or Reave - Pull - Warp etc.).

How can I put this - that is a "stealthy" vanguard! :D
Nice and smooth and controlled.

Nice!

Thanks for all the comments!

I think it's just a matter of style, I tried to play this way but ... I couldn't! lol

I'll try it next time! ;D

When you've modded the coalesced.ini file to remove squadmates, you can't complete a couple of missions. Grunt and Samara's recruitment missions can be cleared of all enemies, but without squadies you can't trigger the cutscenes that will end the mission (only a mission restart with squadmates helps). The Praetorian on Horizon won't show itself when you're on your own.

Gibbed's save editor makes it easier to add/remove squadies at will (and during a mission). You don't have to restart the game - just Alt-Tab, make changes, reload the modded save and you're cool.

I'll try the next time remove via Gibbed's, seems to be more easier than remove editing my Coalesced.

I noticed this in the mission of Mordin ... the mobs in some parts simply do not appear in the mission!

How can you do that? I can't find an option for this. I usually use a modded Colesced file for this as well but it sucks that some levels have "bugs" then like the Praetorian not showing up and other stuff you mentioned. So I'd like to try it that way as well but I can't find anything for this. I have a Player > Basic tab but other tabs like Powers, Henchmen and stuff like that is stating "Not implemented yet". I used this file: social.bioware.com/project/4241/#files

Plot -> Henchmen -> Flags

There you have these "in squad" checkboxes for each squad member. Just tick/untick the ones you want to add/remove and you're good to go.

@ OP; That's a very cool Adept video! Excellent gameplay and a smooth run without squadies - well done.

Can I add this video to my Power of the Adept topic? Would be nice.

@ Korjyan; Influ already answered your question, it's easy and you can solo Loyalty missions too.

Adept is a VERY good class if you know where and when to use their powers ... very cool to play with it!

Sure! You can include the video! :P

This time I made a video with the Infiltrator!

The video quality is much better than my last video (best to watch in 480p, do not ask me why!; D).

Hope you enjoy ... because I liked it!:P

I'm curious. How do you play without squadmates? This sounds like it could make a fun challenge...

Nice run, Infiltrator is perfect to skip fights though I don't like Cloak's effect when playing without squadmates.

Have you tried Arrival yet? Your solo experience should come in handy there. Very cool dlc imo :)

I'll buy the new DLC, but before this I need to complete another Run that I already begin... but for what I read in the forum seems to be very challenging the new DLC! ;D

Very cool!

Is there a reason you decided not to stick to one class and run through the whole game? Or are you planning to do that eventually?

Yes I'm planning to do all the main missions (Dossiers and Collector) and Arrival. I'm still thinking if I'll make Loyalties and DLCs.

I love a game called: Diablo 2, there exists a skill called "Corpse Explosion"... Basically it worked as follows:
"The targeted corpse explodes, damaging all nearby enemies. " The video of the Engineer is the same idea, but with synthetic! ;D

Hope you enjoy ...
