In the final scene with Varric and the Seeker, Varric says that everyone left the Champion's side eventually, for one reason or another... "except Isabella, of course".
I'm guessing this line is supposed to happen if I romanced/slept with Isabella, which I didn't. She also ran out on me near the end of Act 2 because I wanted her to return the book to the Qunari. My actual romance was Merril.
Ending scene glitch (spoilers obviously)

It's a glitch that is apparently caused by flirting with Isabela. Actually, now that I think about this, Varric once warned me about "Rivani," who I had romanced a little, but then during that conversation, he used the name "Merrill," who I had never flirted with. Just some random glitches... well, the second case is probably just an error in the script. Anyway... that's what I know.

i seriously doubt its a glitch. its obvious they want to push that relationship and etc...you had a dozen chances to get rid of merill, and no matter what you did, isabella wouldn't leave.

Yeah, what's the point of having a canon Hawke if you can't have canon LI. Watch out for Sailing the Seven Seas DLC with zombie monkeys, cursed Tevinter gold and even less underwear.
Actually, that would be pure awesome...
