Does she leave the party if your reputation gets too high? I know in BG2 all she does is say she "tires of spending time with fools" yet never threatens to leave or turn on you. Idk if this is the case in BG1 because i just got to 16 rep and she said "I grow tired of our lack of progress".

She leaves when your reputation reaches 19. I usually use SK to set her alignment to Chaotic Neutral. I never thought of Viconia as a really evil character (though she certainly has a cruel streak), so i don't have any problems with that from a roleplaying perspective.

Many mods will prevent characters from leaving due to rep.

I have no mods though - however i now realise she leaves... in my game she doesnt leave intantly... it usually takes a while, but reloading just before she leaves pretty much resets her leave timer, which is usually like a week in game time.

I loved Viconia in BG1, so to keep her in my good party, I had her wander off and 'make a sacrifice' to Shar every oncein a while to reduce our rep. This was usually a lone civilian somewhere who got their skulls bashed in, and I pretended that nobody else in the party knew about it.
I did once reached 19 Rep accidentally and she left immediately - no delay or anything, and she took stacks of awesome gear with her too!
In BG2 I just gave her the belt of alignment changing to make her good. The only thing is that she no longer has any spontaneous dialogue. It must be disabled if she isn't being evil.

I tried the helm of alignment change in BG1.
Didn't work tho - all that effort killing the fake demonknight for naught - tho the helm is cool i have to admit.
IF she is leavign you in BG1, just keep her away from you when you can - she only leaves usually when party members repeat their rep comment lines - then she will select 'talk' to your character - just make her move when you hear her selection sound if you didnt click her - or if your main character's ring is activated by viccy.
Unless you use any mods which makes the leave auto - tho i dont know if any do.
I guess if u use BG1 tutu or something, since BG2 makes her talk immediatly - but i think a poster above may have mentioned bg2 tob where she doensnt leave.
