overall i think the combats great but these assasins that can teleport instantly in and out of combat and one shot (on hard/nightmare) your mages are silly , other than killing them instantly your screwed if they pick a mage , i dont think aggro works as when the dissapear they seems to just pick anyone when they magically pop back . They really are crap and just spoil combat. Surely having an NPC that can telort in/out of combat and magically appear wherever he wants and can also one shot players is pretty stupid?

combine that with how they spawn magically all around your party can be very frustrating . How can you plan for 4 templars to spawn next to your mage and then bash him round the map , or one of the assasins happens to spawn there and one shots you . Or you plan out your fight but then 8 more people appear next to you in the next wave . Also when spells fly around and you think "wtf i killed the mage" , turn round and theres another spawned behind you .

overall i enjoy the combat but these aspects make planning your tactics a waste of time.

So far I have found a few simple tactics to help counteract this, I currently play as a 2H Warrior with Merril, Varric and Anders on my team.
1) Pull enemies into choke points like doorways, then you can stop most enemies getting to your squishy companions, as you just stick you warrior in front of the doorway and no one can get through, but you companions can still attack.
2) Set you tactics so that one of you mages places a misdirection hex on any rogue they see, this helps with the teleportation kills.
3) Obviously this doesnt stop your companions being attacked by randomly spawning enemies, but it does help, currently though I am sticking to normal, will go to the higher difficulties when I get used to the new combat.
