What's the single biggest issue you had with DA2?

A dev studio that I had thought would never wrong me decided it was high time to cash in on that loyalty.

Lack of Dual Wield Warriors
Lack of Arcane Warrior
Lack of Strength Rogues
The 7 different reused maps.
The lack of race choices
The lack of background choices
The reused music
The bugged skills that don't work
The getting stuck
The falling under the scenery

2) The characters... just not very interesting with the exception of Varric and Isabella who grew on me after a while.
3) The impossibility to speak to my party members ANYWHERE I want and the lack of dialogue with them.
4) The re-used maps.

Showing me all that armor that I can't use. Even worse, all that armor that my companions can't use.
Showing me the armor, is like some guy standing next to me at the urinal. Not being able to use it for anything is like that guy peeing directly onto my shoe.

My biggest gripe... probably the over the top combat animations and exploding enemies.
Damn. That's what I was going to say.
Only, without the "probably.'

My close second was the relatively dry team that you had. Varric and Merrill were pretty cool but the rest really didn't shine like other bioware characters do - Carver and Avelline in paticular were so generic that they seemed lik they'd been upgraded to team mates from basic NPCs at the last minute. That said, I can get away with this so long as there's enough interesting team mates to create a team. I just think that, considering how many brilliant characters you had to choose from in DA:O, it's shame they're so thin on the ground. But by far, the lack of environments were my greatest bugbear.

Also the waves of enemies spawning out of nowhere is very very annoying. The maps though, or the lack of maps, is really the worst. It's horrible. It's so non-epic in a game that tries desperately to be epic.

Oh...difficult! So many things to choose from! Uh.... The biggest issue..... Crap. I don't think I can do this. One of art style, ridiculous repetative combat or forced cinematic conversations.DASockDA wrote...
Everyone's picking apart DA2, walls of text listing dozens of complaints. Focus it. Narrow it down to just one, big, glaring issue that you can't ignore.
For me, it was the recycled maps.
Just a sec. I have to flip a coin. They're all too annoying to choose between. Okay, first coin toss, art style over combat. Second coin toss....art style wins over conversation style.
And the loser is...Art Style!
Gah! I forgot the crappy inventory system. Well, never mind. I'll stay with art style as the greatest annoyance.

There's already a Mod for that.

This, they didn't make a Dragon Age game, they made Mass Effect 2 in a fantasy setting.

Good idea for a thread, but really, picking out one top issue isn't really that relevant to me personally. There are so many finer points that make or break a game like this, and DA2 broke pretty much all of them. Picking the one biggest issue runs the risk of detracting from the countless smaller issues that work together to make the game an all-round mediocre experience.

Other than that, I quite liked it.
Could have been longer though (honestly, 20 hours??)
