My biggest issue?

The lack of adventure...

I felt like I was playing the part of some medieval Bruce Wayne wannabe, with my 'Adventure' consisting of 'Ohh I think I'll pop down to the docks again and foil another evil scheme'.

DA2 should be classified as an LRPG (Lite Role Playing Game), because whilst it has some merits, it shouldnt even be mentioned in the same breath as greats like BG, NWN... which were proper RPGs that gave you a genuine feeling of adventure.

My question is, where did these people come from? I've never seen so many ignorant joyless bastards in the Bioware forums before.

If I had to pick one it would be the maps, made the game feel like a chore instead of fun.

For me it really had to be the story. At first I said, okay yeah this sucks. Then it got into the other Acts and I was like, okay I kind of like this. Then it ended with no closure, no reason as to why some of the people appeared and I was pissed. It totally ruined the game for me.

The dialogue wheel. It oversimplifies and kills any kind of consistent roleplaying. Worked all right in Mass Effect, but only because the premise of Shepard was pretty fixed in the first place.

Its a tie for me, between the waves of enemies and the extremely tiny text.

I'm not all the way through the game yet, so I can't really discuss the story much, but I find it annoying to have to keep re-prioritizing targets because more keep showing up. Also, I prefer reading the subtitles rather than listening to the whole conversation and, with the tiny text that i find extremely hard to read, that's hard to do. Maybe I'm just needy. Oh well.

I think most of the hate stems from the huge spoilery thing he does.

Me? I don't hate him. I just prefer Awakening Anders (and Greg Ellis).

Too linear.

Hawke plays a secondary at best role to the events around him.  Even as Champion you are unable to effect influence.

I haven't finished the game yet due to the freezing issue. But there is one thing that bugs me in this game more than anything and will always bug me the most: Not being able to change my companions armor.

It bugged me in ME2 also.

Close second would be the half assed badly animated citizens that you can walk through in the city.

(I still love the game)

My biggest Issues are the Romance partners if you are Male Hawke. A Metalface and a little Elf who knows nothing of the outside world. Don´t get me wrong Merrill is a fun Character. But with no Morrigan like Character the only person i would romance in this Dragon Age would be Bethany ...... if she wasn´t Hawkes Sister

No detachable camera. Problem is more obvious if you're playing a mage. Targeting enemies (with AOE spells) in higher ground is difficult. Also, while you're in a narrow environment (corridors everywhere!) or standing in a corner you can't see a thing in front of you, thanks to the camera...
