On my second playthrough I was entertaining the thought that I would be a 2h tank. I hope to make it so that it can still put of a good amount of damage, but still tank effetively. I wanted to do this because I thought I missed out on a lot of dialogue because I constantly had to have Aveline as well as Anders shackled to my party so we didn't die.
Note: I'll probobly be playing on normal.
Can you tank effectively with a 2h?

On normal 2h warriors do just fine. Great even. Other difficulties it depends on the fight.

Fenris tanked for me (on hard) until the end of the game.
Get threat management talents (for your warrior, and a rogue helps too) and you're fine.
