It's made by me.

Yeah, I know this account has posted his "review" about the game, but that was not the "official" me. It was my younger brother. He came to me the other day and told how bad Dragon Age 2 was, and insisted that I play it, so I did.

Here's my thoughts about the game and possibly some improvement ideas:

Story & Characters:

Good. I really enjoyed the Companions, more than I did while playing Origins. Though my only complaint is Anders, his personality changed way too much, and why did they change his voice-actor (Wasn't the guy who voiced Cullen, the templar, the same guy who voiced Anders in Awakening? Why did they change him, he was perfect!)?

I mean, Anders isn't even funny in DA2... In Awakening he was. I was kind of dissapointed because I romanced him with my female Hawke, and I honestly was expecting that he would say something like "I think I need some mouth-to-mouth..." after he has been revived in combat and is in romance or whatever. It would have fitted him too, as he was kind of like a medic...

The other Companions are fine, and the story was good in my opinion. It was easy to follow and I atleast knew my goals all the time. The ending was a dissapointment though. But I guess it made it easier to continue to Dragon Age 3...?

Also, the game was hilarious! I think this is the only game I've laughed so much about, to all the jokes I mean! I won't spoil anything but there's a dwarf who always makes my day!

Gameplay:

This is the part that quite a few people rage over. I'm not one of them. I absoulutely loved the combat.
Anyone who says that it's nothing like Origins is completely wrong! It is pretty much the same as in Origins but with different animations and faster pacing. Though the animations were a little over the top for my taste...

Some people say it's less tactical without the "Eagle-eye" camera, and I agree. I do not know what BioWare was thinking when they removed it. I think it had something to do with the environment getting in the way? But aside from the tactical camera, I found the game to be atleast as tactical as Origins.
The Tactics screen has been improved, the skills are better, and even though we lack a few things we had in Origins, it still feels the same to me.

Art & Graphics and environment

Well, I don't like the new artwork. It still very much like Origins, but why, WHY, did they change the look of the Darkspawn? I can't even tell how stupid I think they look... They're a joke! In Origins, they were scary and big! Here, they look pathetic.

I can't really comment on the graphics since I could only have the graphics on "Medium", since I do not have DirectX11. But from what I saw, it looked pretty dated.

Then there's the environments... This is maybe my biggest let-down. BioWare re-used pretty much EVERYTHING! If you have seen one cave, you've seen them all! I really does get boring after the 20th time you visit the same old cave (which was refered to as "Dungeon" by quite a few people). Also I think it was pretty cheap with the Day/Night system... Though it did allow some quests to have more feeling or depth, but I still found it a source of lazyness. I also didn't like how the only place you were in was Kirkwall. I think they tried to make you feel atached to it, but I really didn't... There were quite a few interesting locations (Hanged man), but most of the districts looked the same... The environments outside of Kirkwall looked nice however.

Replayability:

High. I spent 36 hours to beat the game on Nightmare/Normal (I changed the difficulty to Normal during some boss fights or difficult encounters), and I want to replay it just to see what I missed and how thing would have turned out if I would have joined X or killed Y.

Final verdict:

It is a good game. No doubt. It might not have been what people expected, but please, don't whine about how BioWare/EA "stole" your 60 bucks. There was a demo for a reason, you know...

I really enjoyed it, and, while the repetitive environments made it boring sometimes, I still wanted to finish the game.

8/10 from me. I'm not a fanboy nor a hater, just a gamer.

I swear I'm gonna beat this game Solo Nightmare. Like I did with Origins. :bandit:
