I keep fighitng mages that seem to teleport across the map, but I always thought the codex entries implied that magic can't do anything ever to speed up travel. Is the idea that they're turning invisible and running to the other side of the map? Because if that's the idea, mages apparently have some kick butt sneakers under those robes.
Are they invisible or teleporting?

If magic cannot speed travel then the Eluvians couldn't possibly exist

yeah
I remember reading on Awakening, which I played recently, a codex about having to move feet by feet, that teleporting was impossible and all, and then I get to play Dragon Age 2 and all mages teleport around you :/
it sucks bioware can't respect their own lore... kinda like in ME2 were weapons got a stupid excuse for having bullets

cloaking spell, just like rogues use smoke bombs to disguise their movements.... theatrical flair should not be taken literally with the gameplay of DA2.
