 I have seen people saying in a number of threads that if you fund the expedition into the Deep Roads via the quest "Friends in Low Places" that it is possible to keep the 50 soverigns by refusing to pay Doughal in Act 2. This results in you ending up with 100+ soverigns at the start of Act 2.

I tried to do this on my second playthrough but as soon as the Deep Roads expedition finishes and I leave the Vicounts Keep, Bodahn turns up and tells me Doughal is waiting for me in my mansion. If I ask why he is there my character says she paid him "years ago" so I don't get the option to refuse repayment.

Has anyone actually managed to keep all the money? If so, please can you elaborate on what you did.
