Hello all,

Recently completed mass effect 1 on the PC and it was
fantastic. My PC ran it fine with minimal problems but I would like to
know if anyone could help me to see whether ME2 will run smoothly too.

I'm not too technical with computers but I managed to gather these specs.

Intel® Core™2 CPU 6600 @ 2.40GHz
Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3
2.0 GB RAM

ATI display adapter (0x94C3) 512.0 MB

There is probably not enought information there, but if anyone has any thoughts it would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers ../../../images/forum/emoticons/smile.png

Taken from wikipedia:

CPU 1.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo or equivalent AMD CPU

Memory 1 GB (XP), 2 GB (Vista/Win 7)
Hard drive space 15 GB
Graphics hardware NVIDIA GeForce 6800 or greater, ATI Radeon X1600 Pro or greater

Which translates to... you're probably fine. If you can handle ME1, the worst that would happen with ME2 is slightly less framerate.

Cheers.

I believe your graphics card is an ATI Radeon 2400 that is what I got from google anyway :P.  That does let your system down a fair bit.  If you were able to play Mass Effect 1 satisfactorily on your PC then you will have no problems with Mass Effect 2.

If you want to double check then why not try the demo ?  There is a PC demo of Mass Effect 2 available from here :-

Give that a go and if it runs fine then the full game should run just as well.

I highly doubt that, you might be able to run it, but it won't be smooth sailing, that's for sure.
